That does not affect my opinion of Mozilla one bit. If anything, I applaud them for integrating AI into the browser. Saves me the trouble of having to type in a URL and login to a website to access an AI; I can just hit Ctrl+Alt+X now.
Psythik@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What movie is in your top list despite its absolute shit rating?41·2 months agoCancel all your subscriptions and look into Stremio + Torrentio + Real-Debrid. For $3/mo you could have any show or movie you want, streamed directly to your TV, without having to wait for it to “come up on streaming”.
Vanilla Firefox. I trust Mozilla more than I trust the devopers of any fork.
Psythik@lemmy.worldto linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Am I allowed to use gentoo if im not 40+ or dating?28·2 months agoShit like this is why I don’t use DuckDuckGo. I appreciate them for what they do (and I love the DDG app for it’s tracking protection abilities), but their search is absolute garbage, somehow even worse than Google’s.
Psythik@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What movie is in your top list despite its absolute shit rating?71·2 months agoTell me about it. Anybody who saw the first few minutes of the film and still expected the rest to be historicaly accurate should probably get tested for autism. The director made it clear from the very start that A Knight’s Tale is satire.
Why is Microsoft’s support so completely and utterly useless, anyway? Do they purposely hire people who don’t understand how computers work for their support team? They almost always reply with a “solution” that has absolutely nothing to do with the issue at hand. Why are they so bad at their jobs?
Psythik@lemmy.worldto Fediverse@lemmy.world•The /r/piracy link to lemmy /c/piracy hit the reddit frontpage with 7K+ updoots!English2·3 months agoI’m sorry but it’s just not enough. There are still way too many people on reddit.
We need that number to be in the millions, so that niche communities form and I can finally stop going to reddit for that content. I want to be done with that website sooo badly.

*sigh*
Psythik@lemmy.worldto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Got myself some energy monitoring Zigbee plugs and made an interesting discoveryEnglish6·3 months agoThat’s nothing; my Ryzen 7000 machine uses 150w at idle. Modern high-end desktops draw a lot of power.
Psythik@lemmy.worldto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Got myself some energy monitoring Zigbee plugs and made an interesting discoveryEnglish4·3 months agoMy X670E system also uses a shitload of power. Literally 150w at idle, no matter what I do. Tried disabling every unnecessary feature in the BIOS and enabling all the energy efficient settings I can find, to no avail. Drives me nuts.
Psythik@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What item(s) that you currently own do you expect to be using for the rest of your life given that you don't break or lose it?17·3 months agoI have ADHD, so literally nothing is safe.
That’s what I say every time people talk shit about BTC, but I still get downvoted anyway because NFTs and meme coins ruined crypto.
Damn. I don’t get enough fish in my diet, and have to take Vitamin D supplements to get enough of that too. I drink too much as well (made a resolution to quit, though; it’s been a week without a drink), and have to vape weed every day in order to get tired enough to sleep.
No wonder why I developed arthritis in my early 20s. I just thought it was genetic.
Lemmy and Imgur. Before that it was reddit. And before that, digg.
I like Windows 11. It has the best HDR support of any OS, bar none. AutoHDR is a godsend.
My only complaint is about the taskbar, which I fixed by installing StartAllBack.
DLSS is AI upscaling, right?
No, not DLSS. RTX Video Enhancement. Makes YouTube look so much better.
I think the program
nvidia-settings
has that? Try it out!It does not. I’m talking about this page. Almost every game in existence is missing several settings that are on this page, especially GPU Power Management Mode, Negative LOD Bias, Max Framerate in the Background, and Max VR Prerendered Frames.
Psythik@lemmy.worldto Fediverse@lemmy.world•Stock photo for the Fediverse by Elena RossiniEnglish6·3 months agoReally? I just installed it and all I see is news in French. When I try to add more “platforms”, it tells me that I need to choose a platform first, but doesn’t give me any options. It’s like it just expects me to figure that out on my own. Very unintitive.
Psythik@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some exceptions to the standards problem?1·3 months agoAnything by Sony
Tried it again a few months ago when HDR support first dropped in KDE. It didn’t work at all. Everything was desaturated and dim. Literally the opposite of what HDR is supposed to do.
I’m giving it another year before I try Linux again. Hopefully the bugs are sorted by then.
