13·1 month agoI think our only hope soon will be that the change is easy to patch out AND that downstream distributors care to remove it. Though I personally doubt they’ll be touching anything that isn’t related to the UI.
I’m reminded of the joke where someone explains their plan to rob a bank, and are then told that’s called having a job.
Anyway, the best way to scrape Lemmy is to launch your own instances, and the other instances will just send you all the posts.

Except for that one dev who decided to use steam achievements as a progress tracker and as an anti-piracy tactic.
That probably wasn’t part of the upgrade process.
It gets complicated when using zsh.
It’s a bash builtin, so none of these work anyway.

I just started using Blorp. It’s open source, very smooth, and the developer is quick to respond to bug reports.
But can you install Firefox without having snap be reinstalled?
Same with Manjaro and the AUR.
