    I expect “modular” as in how Fairphone approaches it.

    It is NOT. It is just a smart case with pogo pins that can communicate with the phone.

    EDIT: I think using “smart” is too much credit to them.

      Looks like modular is the new buzzword for phones that look like that new nothing phone, with straps, pins and whatnot. I wonder is there really a market for these things?

      I mean, I love what they’ve done with the Skyline, but this thing looks kind of useless.

        The CMF phone was arguably even worse since it didn’t come with any guarantees around support for replacement parts, nor was a battery replacement particularly easy despite the removable back. The marketing from both Nothing and HMD feels like they’re targeting tech illiterate zoomers who would buy a phone based on 2000s era nostalgia bait design instead of practicality. Like just look at this new HMD marketing video - it even has 2000s style classic trance.
