I run jellyfin on bare metal because it makes it easier to debug imo, but I do use docker for caddy and some other little applications (like a tomcat instance for example)
my servers run alpine! it’s incredibly stable even for hobbiest use
why is the password ******* lol
camel for java. flat for c
hmm, sounds like a classic PEBKAC error.
super interesting read. thanks for your time!
I have a lot of niche knowledge about specific issues relating to different brands/models of laptops and phones. it’s very rare I find an issue I can’t diagnose within an hour with prior knowledge. ask me anything I suppose?
oh, also, I happen to know that Ohio is the only state that doesn’t share a letter in common with the word mackerel. works for the territories too. doesn’t really get more niche than that.
thats insane and really cool! what got you interested in that specifically?
first game I played in HDR was mass effect legendary. I don’t care that the game itself is close to 15 years old, the 4k remaster + HDR blew my mind and set a new standard for how good games could look.
agreed
yes very much agreed on this. docker is awesome but imo the reliance on it will absolutely cause issues down the line
programming! I had heard that programming is better on Linux so I gave it a go and quickly realized it was better for everything else as well
yep. not worth the troubleshooting time when you can pull a brand new image from the servers in about 5 minutes, especially when it ties into a file server so you don’t have to worry about lost data.
