Wikipedia is not a source. It’s fine to take information from Wikipedia. But if you are doing actual research. You need to cross reference that with the source cited to make sure it’s accurate.
Most Wikipedia pages have their sources listed so you can easily look them up and verify their validity.
If there are no sources cited. You should be cautious.
I used Debian, there is a version for the Surface if you do some searching, after install you need to update the kernel for everything to work as it should. But it’s not that complicated, I just followed the guide that accompanied the update.
As for the touch and pen. Both works fine for me. I did find a whiteboard software that recognized both sides as pen and eraser. Though I’ve been planning on trying to install one note and test that on the linux version. Just haven’t gotten around to it.

Your first part is how mandatory military service is just to teach how to kill. Which is not true.
Most countries don’t need military service to work on community projects. Because people already know how their communities work, and there just isn’t a need for that type of slave labour.
What the military can get called in for though are things like disaster relief or searches for missing people where you need to look through a whole forest.
Unfortunately. Mandatory military service is critical to many countries survival. You NEED to have a population that understand the basics of how to organise a defense.
It’s the difference between being a country or being a province.

Shopping carts. It’s mindblowing to me that the country that sent men to the moon still hasn’t figured out that its easier for everyone if they turn on all 4 wheels rather than the 2 front ones.
That way you can slide your cart sideways to make room for other shoppers. And turning it takes no effort.
And even… even if it is some weird cost cutting thing. Why not make them turn on the rear wheels? That would still make it easier than in the front. Since you steer the cart from the rear.
Get your shit together. Put gun controll aside, put your dumb ass two party politics aside and focus on what matters. Your godawful shopping carts.
You know what also isn’t done by a significant part of the world? Eating insects. But im not gonna go and call their eating habbits weird just because it’s not something I grew up with.
