  • Matthew 23 is Jesus absolutely bitching out the religious leaders “Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat, so do and observe whatever they tell you, but not the works they do. For they preach, but do not practice. They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger.”

As you say, the so-called ‘Christians’ really act like the Pharisees in the Bible that is called out against. If the bible they claim to believe in is true, then a loooooooooooooooooot are probably going to be in for a rude awakening because they were warned in the same book, Chapter 7 verse 23 when the person they claim to follow says “I never knew you.”

There’s a quote attributed to Ghandi but it’s not verified to actually be by him. But is a very appropriate one in my day to day “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.”

  • US here… it has less to do with the 1% being fucking morons and more to do with the only infrastructure we actually pay any attention to is cars. Sure we’re having a bit of a bicycle revolution but at least in my area the bikes aren’t being used for transport but for fun, but then that’s with a metro that’s sprawling with a city that’s only 100 sq miles smaller than NYC, with 8,000,000 less people in it. Add that the auto companies were allowed to buy out things like the streetcar that was local and able to tear up the tracks to get rid of competition, it really isn’t a shocker.

But we’re now stuck in a cyclical spiral, of no investment for things like this are happening because it’s not seen as profitable enough. Which means a constant problem of using something like a bike for commuting is “But then I have nowhere I can put my bike where it won’t get fucked with.” so people don’t commute with it, which leads to no investment to the infrastructure.

Dunno how to fix it. It just sucks.

  • Enough cooking and adding spices, and they can add a lot to a meal

Lets be honest, Indian butter chicken is why I don’t just outright say I’m allergic to them because that is delicious and apparently tomatoes are a main ingredient with the sauce.

The texture is a high part, I’ll always remember “horror fleshy grenade” about them now, but my dad who hates tomatoes as well found heirloom grape tomatoes and eats them just straight. Okay, I’ll try them. Nope… that I don’t know how to describe other than tomato taste just was there and awful.

I can eat marinara and tomato sauce, but if I can have an alternative 10/10 I’ll pick something else, ketchup I don’t really like, and if it’s spicy enough I enjoy salsa as long as it’s not chunky, but that’s because I find salsa is like butter chicken, the tomato taste isn’t there, just a vehicle for the spices.

But seriously, I’m the guy when everyone is ordering a pizza I know I’ll be able to eat it but I’ll be “meh” unless there’s a white sauce pizza.

  • Old WoW player, hit Guild Wars, EVE Online and ESO. Had fun in them… but I had a lot of the same problems you’re talking about. EVE was fun because it was screw the story, the fights are on, but any of the others, there’s story and your character is off to the side.

Few months ago a friend got me into Final Fantasy 14. Note, it’s the first FF game I’ve played so I didn’t go in with the love like so many but holy lord it scratches that RPG itch I’ve been looking for for years in an mmo setting… like straight up the story is at a point where I say my character is really not in a good place. Frankly it’s story is better than some of the single player games I’ve gotten to recently.
