From what I understand (I don’t play but my brother does) Starcraft 2 multiplayer was balanced almost entierly around the pro scene.

There is a normal integer between 4 and 5 but sapient beings are completely incapable of percieving it.
There’s a japanese company working on a kidney rejuvination drug for cats that’s meant to come out next year (potential 10 year increase in average lifespan) so we’ll almost certainly have that in 10 years which will be nice.
While I think our current brute force method attempt at AI is already hitting the limits of how ‘smart’ it can be I suspect over the next few years we’ll develop far lighter models until your phone having a simulated personality is just a standard (hopefully optional) feature. They’ll probably also have an online feature to cross reference their own answers with wikipedia or something.
Deaslination is likely to get significantly better by sheer neccesity.
I like to think we’ll have higher frequency rectennas though probably not optical frequency ones.
Agreed, though I wish youtubes algorithm was able to take into account video release date. Sometimes most of the science youtubers happen to be on a break and I end up watching a higher proportion of gaming content which then further kills the science content in my feed until I manually search it out again.
The red/blue/green mars trilogy. The first book was pretty great and the themes were good throughout but the main characters devolve into this weird privaliged manifest destiny hippy cult that doesn’t give a shit about the rest of humanity and acts like they got to mars all by themselves and not on the backs of the billions supporting the economies that made the journey possible.
Its the only serie series I’ve read where I ended up rooting for the oligarchic corporate overlords because even a mars owned by megacorps works out better for humanity than the mars envisioned by the protagonists at this point who are basically turning into a kind of proto-version of the spacers from asimov.
Between his unhealthy lifestyle and increasing cognitive decline I’m not sure he’s going to be alive in 2028.
General tenants about being excellent to eachother, none of that smiting bullshit for people to cherrypick.
Multitheistic with different gods responsible for different aspects of reality with the general commandment of the religion being that the best way to become closer to the gods (or specific god of preference) is to understand their creation and thus understand them (go do science!)
Throw in some enjoyable aspects like funerals being a celebration rather than a sombre occasion; colour code the gods so we don’t even up with everything being fucking gray or gilded; And have a neat little offering ceremony for each god thats simple but unique and inexpensive so people can go all starsigny on it, offerings being a good luck thing rather than mandatory.
I’m starting to wonder if its LLMs. An AGI is something we would be incredibly cautious around and is really no more likely to be psychopathic than any other living thing, the vast majority of which are not. LLMs on the other hand are pushed into every role techbros can shove them into while having less understanding of what they do than a housefly, the potential for damage is immense if someone decides to put one in charge of something important like infastructure or weaponry.
Dr Who has had some genuinely good episodes and plot lines, nowadays though it does mostly seem to be re-hashing its own old plot lines but in a shorter and less well executed form or just trying to cram as many current issues into an episode as possible. Its basically suffering the same fate as the simpsons.
Superman has had its good moments like the world made of cardboard scene. Nowadays I think saitama from one punch man makes for a better all powerful hero as the narrative really focuses more on the consiquences of that power on himself and the people around him rather than just having him save the day over and over.
It depends on the net worth of the artist.
Honestly if the UK can spend a couple of decades with half a hiroshimas worth of high explosives sitting unguarded within sight of London I think a nuclear facility with actual security will be fine.
One way or another I’m moving to Linux for my next PC. but damn I finally think I understand enough to decide Debian would be a good ‘it just works’ distro and then Linux users out the woodwork telling me its actually a pain in the ass and to use XYZ (all disagreeing) distros instead. I’m like 90% sure its going to be Debian, Ubuntu or Mint but beyond that its more uncertain than the inside of a black hole.
Honestly that entire movie was a plothole given the origins of the xenomorphs is already established.
I kinda just assumed that was how it was meant to be interpreted and the other stuff was just crappy writing. The mention that Zion had been destroyed multiple times kinda implied it was just another matrix.
You know every time I think I understand enough about Linux to consider moving over an innocent post like this sets me back to square one.
Nah the dark forest doesn’t really work, If turning on a light (so to speak) makes you a target then a muzzle flash is even worse. It takes a lot of energy to kill a planet however you do it and thats going to tell everyone where the shooter is.
And no you can’t use an asteroid because all the matter in the universe couldn’t make a computer powerful enough to make it hit over a reasonable distance and getting to our solar system to use one of the ones here is just as energetic as firing a projectile.
Only in a single version of how teleportation could work.
Its pretty easy to to replace the hard drive in most laptops with an empty one then install either linux or a stripped down version of windows.
Either the British or American national anthems, they’re both pretentious as fuck and it’d be kinda interesting to see if something like that has knock on effects down the line.
