Nature doesn’t ask for consent. It is an uncontrollable force. Flood plains will eventually flood just as certainly as a volcano will eventually erupt or the sun will rise. If you build a house in a flood plains it WILL be flooded. Maybe not this year, maybe not this decade, but it will happen eventually with absolute certainty.

I love this.
I went to College about 65 miles west of Chicago (or about 1 hour driving). One weekend some friends decided to take a road trip to Maine so one friend could confess their love to someone. They left Friday after classes ended and drove nonstop, took one hour in Maine for the friend to get shot down, and then dove back. They didn’t get back until late Sunday night. That’s about 1300 miles and with a few bathroom/food stops 24 hours each way.
Can’t Hardly Wait.
Everything felt lighter. Depression for me felt like someone had increased the effects of gravity just for me. It took immense effort to get out of bed or to make myself move to accomplish anything. The meds turned gravity back to normal.
I was supervising filling in a pit we had dug on the edge of a forest. We had dump trucks coming in dumping gravel. One particular driver wasn’t great at his job and there had been issues with him in the past.
That driver came in and dumped his gravel, but then he drove off with his bed still raised and almost immediately smashed into electric lines that ran off into the forest. One telephone pole even snapped at the base and fell over.
Within 30 seconds multiple cops came speeding onto the job site. It turns out those electric lines ran to a radio tower in the woods that ran the police radio. The idiot in the dump truck had taken out the police comms for the whole town.
Bitches love cannons.

Villains by Necessity by Eve Forward. After the ultimate triumph of good over evil, a group of villains save the world from good. It’s a total inversion of the standard fantasy trope. Highly recommend it for any fantasy fan, doubly so for Dragonlance fans.
He has really departed from the way he was written in the beginning. Becoming popular forced the character to be written shallow.
Mac n cheese with surimi
A recent study has shown there is little increase in happiness beyond $500,000 in annual earnings. Based on that I suggest a cap of $500k per year or $50 million lifetime earnings.
The former would be for most people, the latter is for movie stars or athletes who might have a few very high earning years and love off them the rest of their life.
Why?
It’s the same as the last civil war. One side can’t bear to live in a world where brown people are treated the same as white people.
