Integrity.
Integrity.
West Wing has some fantastic acting from some really talented people. It’s definitely a guilty pleasure in that it paints a (very) idealistic portrait of modern politics and life in the White House as only Hollywood can provide. One can dream, right? :D
Probably LOTRO or Enshrouded.
Any of the Star Treks, the West Wing (because I love fantasy), Firefly, IT Crowd, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Garth Marenghi’s Dark Place…
Lately, I’ve really got into making sheet-pan dinners. Baked (and marinated) chicken breast surrounded by halved baby potatoes, broccoli, carrots and cauliflower with a little feta cheese sprinkled on after it comes out of the oven. Hearty and delicious! :)
This is definitely a rich person thing, at least in the USA. Most people I know and associate with don’t have the kind of money to keep a lawyer on retainer.
When I heard my father decrying racism as wrong - and then turning right around in the very next sentence to say that homosexuals and trans people deserve god’s wrath.
Thank you for this. It actually answers my question, and I appreciate it.
Okay, what’s the biggest and most active gamer community on Matrix? In fact, what’s the biggest and most active community for anything, not counting software developers, on Matrix? I’ve tried using Matrix many, many times. It’s a ghost town if you’re not a software developer. It’s not a viable replacement for Discord. At least not by user count. Why is that? I’m sure I’ll get slammed with nasty replies for this, but I’m just telling the truth. Have at me, if you will.
Yeah, I was talking about the people who are hostile and abusive. I’m wondering if the people who are so disagreeable on Lemmy came straight from Reddit.
I tried very hard to work and fit in at a job where the majority of the people did not share my own values, and were extremely vocal and abusive about it. Being singled out and literally screamed at in front of everyone for something that I had nothing to do with was the last straw. It was probably the worst job I have ever had. My mental health really suffered from that place.
Do you think that a lot of people come to Lemmy because they got banned from Reddit? I often wonder about this.
A red panda. Sure, my cats would freak the hell out, but a red panda would quickly use their zen powers to calm them down.
Bots, man. Bots.
So, you’re looking for a more ‘consequence-free’ instance? Is that an accurate statement?
I view moderation as ‘the rules of the house’. When you go to another person’s house, you are expected to abide by their (hopefully sane and sensible) rules. If you don’t, you are asked to leave. Sometimes, you are forcibly removed if things escalate. If you don’t like the rules of the house, or you can’t find common ground with the people there, don’t go there.
Joplin probably.
There is always hope. It just depends on how much effort you personally are willing to put in to help change the things you’re seeing. There are several movements (50501 and Indivisible are two that immediately spring to mind) with millions of members that are currently fighting to change things. Get involved.
Or what kind of boss she has. When I see stuff like that, I always make sure to tip well.
9th grade. Public school. Teacher opens the first class with “All penises are the same size” and “I don’t answer questions. That’s what your handouts are for”. I can’t for the life of me understand how my generation had such a high teenage pregnancy rate, can you?
