It’s funny people still think this, they just replaced nearly my entire M1 MacBook Pro that was completely fucked because of water damage. Literally everything but the display was replaced, I basically have a new computer at the cost of $300+whatever I paid for AppleCare+ when I bought it ($400, I think?), which is significantly cheaper than buying a new one would have been
The fear of being smashed makes them retract into their safety zone
Some companies in my experience do do exit interviews for people who are fired. This makes more sense when you realize exit interviews are mostly to give the company a heads up if they think you might try to sue them.
Exit interviews aren’t box checking exercises, they exist to give the company a heads up if the employee seems like they’re disgruntled and might try to sue. Always skip them, it only benefits the company that laid you off, nobody else.
They’re franchised so that could have been true for the town or region you were in 🤷♂️
Amazon or going outside?
Because in other countries everyone uses WhatsApp, it’s sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy. As for why the US kept using text messages while everyone else moved to WhatsApp, that’s because texting in the US became very cheap while it was still very expensive in other countries.
I literally have to use Facebook to know what’s happening in my small community. It’s the most convenient place to learn about what’s going on and I hate it
This person is probably Brazilian given the domain of the instance they’re in. Given that you didn’t assume that they speak another language, I’ll assume that means they know probably twice as many languages as you, and tenses are really hard to master.
Don’t be a prick to people for no reason.
Huh, I did not know that. Wild.
Jetbrains moved away from the purchase version model and to an actual monthly/yearly subscription model a very long time ago. I don’t even think you can buy their products anymore, they’re literally subscription models, no longer buy versions then get updates for a year sort of thing. You either pay them and have access or don’t and lose it.
Movies and TV shows are absolutely packed full of product placement advertisements.
Tankies aren’t that type of communist, that is, sane. Tankies are auth rights disguised as leftists.
Most of Oklahoma is, but as you get near the edges of the state you encounter some bumpy bits. Looks like Turner Falls is near the Texas border.
-sci because I enjoy SciFi
They probably actually delete it if you request them to from a country covered by GDPR, but not if you just hit the delete button on your post. This is fairly common.
That’s a bit sad, init?
On modern Linux versions you need to add --no-preserve-root or it won’t work as nicely
Yeah, for sure, it’s just remembering all of the things it can do seems pretty tricky lol
