    4x7.5 hours

I think we should be working a 30 hour work week. It’s more conducive to, you know, having an actual life. 40 is far too hectic and time consuming, especially if you have kids. We simply need more time for our personal lives. 40+ just makes you feel like your life is on fast forward and your real home is just a secondary home to your work home.

I’m leaning toward 5x6 hours. That way you’re present for coverage 5 days a week, but you’re in and out in what feels like a much shorter timespan. Every once in a while we get let go a couple hours early, so I only end up doing 6 hours and it feels so much more natural. I don’t really need to eat. I don’t get really anxious like I always do in the last couple hours of an 8 hour shift. I have a couple more hours of the day to get other shit done. It just feels right.

The entire point of humans advancing technology throughout all of history is to make our lives easier. Well, guess what, we live in a technologically advanced civilization now and worker productivity has skyrocketed because of it. So why are we still working so much? Answer. Because our overlords demand it so we can enrich them beyond our wildest dreams. The sad thing is if we all got together in solidarity and demanded a 30 hour work week, we’d have it.
