  • There’s a word for this, the promotion of leaders based on merit instead of popularity - Technocracy. And it’s not a distinct ideology but a syncretic one that has been adopted by many groups with differing politics. The most prominent example would be the Technocratic faction of the People’s Republic of China, which was opposed to the Maoists back in the 50s and 60s; they argued for society to be led by experts instead of Democratically with a strong emphasis on Peasant participation (the standpoint of the Maoists). China today follows a moderate path taking from both factions.

In the West, however, Technocracy is mostly associated with Liberals; however, I would argue that the modern Liberal view of Technocracy is fundamentally flawed, since it relies on Capitalism distributing wealth meritocratically (which Socialists understand is not the case).

  • I am not going to go into whether it’s right or not, but using the term “B*tching” may not be a slur, but it is still considered misogynistic in many cases, because it is comparing a negative action (complaining) with a misogynistic stereotype (the B*tch).

R*tard is a slur, but if you called something r*tarded, that would still be ableist and be rightfully removed. Many people believe that the same logic should apply to misogynistic slurs.

Whether you agree or not is up to you, but the developers’ logic for the filter being in the state it is is sound.

If you’re expecting complete faithfulness to the plot, it’s not going to be what you want. But, especially when taken as a whole, it’s a fun little low-budger show that retains a lot of the themes and feel of the anime.

It’s sort of a “enjoy it for what it is, not what you wish it was” kind of show.

  • Unitary Representative Parliament.

Ultimately, Democracy is a means to an end, not an end in and of itself. And as we can see in the United States, people do not tend to vote wholly in their own collective interest but according to media (and even educational) influence and voter manipulation (making voting easier for certain people and harder or impossible for others).

Ultimately I believe in the inverse-heirarchical system: where people elect local representatives (for their town, or a neighborhood of a large city), who elect state representatives, who elect national representatives, who appoint a dual head of State and Government along with an executive committee to carry out the mandates of the national body.

I believe that parties whose purpose is counter to the public good should be banned. My main concern here is not for “anti-democratic” parties, however, but fascists and other right-wing groups.
