  • Just coordinate the release of the urls and the transfer of the instance.

I’m skeptical about this since you are squatting on at least 18 urls while trying to get volunteers to create value out of them. Nothing leads me to assume you are being altruistic.

    Edit: misattributed something, woops

It seems like you are waiting for the next influx to potentially monetize and trying to hold the most potential instances without putting any work or money into it. It’s just my impression.

I also think instances without users are a terrible idea and I’d rather real instances come about organically instead created by people that actually care about the subject.

  • I was working at an assembly plant for plane motors (the big kind) and one of them literally blew up in the test bed. There was chunks literally embedded in the safety glass, it was a huge mess.

Turns out someone left an orange rubber mallet inside of it. Over the course of a year, they reassembled the shredded mallet and traced it back to the toolbox that used it. The guy lost it and instead of reporting it and disassembling his last job, he just stole one from an other toolbox.

Not mine but my buddy used to build kayaks. One of the employees took a dump in one of the kayaks and it only got caught because of a random QC test. I always giggle thinking of the client who would have received it.

  • You can use speech to text to transcribe meetings then have an LLM generate summaries. You can make an automated tagging system with the transcription or summaries as well.

I wouldn’t have it manage appointments, just in case of errors. I don’t know for cpd, not really sure what that entails. For advertising, image generation can be a real boon but it still requires someone with some advertising and photo editing knowledge to get good results.

It really depends on the specific task, it can fail monumentally for certain things but can be a real time and cost saver for others. It’s important to review what it does as well and test it thoroughly.

  • I misspoke in my first comment. It’s vague on if copyrights are shared but it does explicitly say it gains ownership.

In any case, this issue has been brought up and they haven’t fixed it. Every other platforms makes it very clear who has ownership of what. There’s too much room for abuse and its either a grift or incompetence and with all the other problems with the platform, it’s not a good look.

Federated platforms are popping up for this kind of thing, better to wait imo.

  • are copyrighted unless otherwise noted and are the property of Cara and/or the individual artist

The hateboner is justified. For all it’s faults, instagram explicitly says it doesn’t own any of the pictures and only has a license to display which the user can revoke at anytime.

Deviant art has this in it’s TOS:

DeviantArt does not claim ownership rights in your works or other materials posted by you to DeviantArt (Your Content).

It might be due to plain incompetence and not malice but their TOS lets them do a lot more than most platforms.

Cara has it in their terms of service that they gain the shared copyright of anything posted on their website. Nothing in their terms of service says they can’t open a store and sell prints or even sell the data to an AI company.

Cara is literally one of the worse places for artists.

Ya it’s a fine line I guess but any kind of gore goes directly into the “can be removed” category in my opinion. I fully understand if some mods want to keep the link up and some mods don’t and I won’t be judging either camp.

I’m just commenting on the fact that you specifically don’t really have a right to complain but that being said, the other posts that were deleted probably didn’t have gore in them.
