I don’t use Mastodon or Twitter, never have… because it’s a platform for people with low attention spans and lacking anything interesting to say or form a complex cogent though and discourages intelligent interaction in favor of quick quips and toxic behavior. Mastodon/Twitter is a cancer on the Internet, end of story.

Pages represent web pages, whereas notes represent “a short written work typically less than a single paragraph in length”. In my opinion, using Page was a mistake on Lemmy’s end. Just like Lemmy won’t support Place objects, I’m not sure if any other platform will ever support Page objects, because Pages are much bigger in scope than anything most Fediverse applications ever deal with.

Using note was the mistake. Limiting communication to short quips, like Twitter does, is a fucking travesty. The fact that people routinely and often make multiple tweets to extend what they want to say proves this point. Twitter/X was the worst thing to happen to communication in the internet age by further reducing the attention span and ability of people to concentrate on longer bodies of writing, thereby making people even dumber.

Twitter/Mastodon should not even be a thing, honestly. They are dumb methods of communication for dumb people. You can always post something shorter in a long form system, but you can’t post something longer in a short form system, without making multiple posts. It’s fucking stupid and always has been. The primary reason for the short form, originally 140 char, was because you could text it in one message. This made a bit of sense… just a tiny bit, as it opened up communication where there previously wasn’t any. But as we moved away from that paradigm of 140 char text messages, the idea of a Twitter became more and more stupid, where today, we have Twitter/Mastodon as the bastion of the idiot regime who can’t think past 280 characters.

Just recently went been to a Fitbit charge 6 from a Galaxy watch 5. I don’t use any of the features of a smart watch and having to charge it every day is bullshit. The Fitbit is charge ever week or week and a half.

Just getting “enough” sleep for a few nights isn’t going to work. You need to go to bed at the same time every night and get enough restful sleep for months so your body is on a schedule. Then you won’t be tired during the day.

If you are, you may not be getting restful sleep and you need to investigate that.

For me, it was a CPAP. I’m physically fit, normal weight, healthy otherwise, but I was having obstructive sleep apnea. Getting a CPAP was a night and day difference, as my sleep is much more restful and restorative.

I just had a peek at the source code of the plug-in. It’s basically already setup to add another service like Lemmy, as it supports Nebula and one other service with the same codebase.

I think it would almost trivial to add Lemmy. I may look into doing it if i get bored and have the time, but not sure when that would be. Have you contacted the git maintainer for that plug-in and asked him to add Lemmy support? He could do it much quicker since he’s already familiar with the code and from what I saw, it would be about 30-60 minutes worth of work for someone familiar with the codebase already. I may be grossly underestimating that since I did not do an in depth dive, but from what I can tell it would be pretty simple.

What I would do is:

Add a new variable that lets you configure what Lemmy instance you want to point to
Copy the objects from reddit to a new lemmy object.
Adjust the URL and /r/ to /c/

Might have to fiddle with the User view code a bit

But other than that, everything else code wise should be a drop in replacement from what I can tell.

I do pills. Personally, it’s because a pill releases it all at once and coffee is a dose over time, making the effect less.

Also, my pills are tempered with L-Theanine to blunt the jitters.

What part of what I wrote do you not understand? Because it’s painfully clear you are completely mistaken about how Federation works or what it is. I’ve already explained the differences to you, but you don’t seem to be able to grasp them. So where is the failure of communication here? Which parts are you having trouble with?
