Light theme used to be the only theme. People now need dark themes because they’re eyes are too week from all the worke.

A lack of engagement is a solvable problem. Become the engagement you want to see.
Linux is a kernel. In that sense Android is Linux.
However when people say Linux they usually mean the full OS with the GNU utilities and all the other things that make up a Linux distro.
In that sense, Android is not Linux as pretty much everything other than the kernel is built specifically for android.
The gun’s name is an initialism for “Fuck Gun Control”, with the “9” referencing its 9mm cartridge.
They’ve got the best branding
Conditioner can clog your pores and cause irritation to your skin. As long as you’re careful with it conditioner is unlikely to cause problems when used on your hair.
Short hair doesn’t need or benefit much from conditioner. I would recommended trying shampoo only, and adding conditioner only if needed.
How short is your hair actually? Short hair for a man can mean something different than short hair for a woman. Men rarely use conditioner so if your hair is the length of an ordinary men’s style you’re probably fine without.
Gun control means keeping weapons out of the hands of those who intend to do harm. Which is why my first step would be to cancel all military aid to Isreal.
you should try not
I have liked Ubuntu based distros until they release a major update. They are aimed at beginners and they work fine for that. If you use one to the end of support, the updater will say that your software is up to date because there are no new updates.
You have to check the website to find out you’ve reached the end of support, and to get instructions on how to update.
That is an awful user expierence for beginnners, and a great way to have users using vulnerable software without knowing about it.
I’ve switched to rolling releases for this exact reason.
The nice thing about being a regular person is that very few people have any reason to care.
If you buy something online, the merchant has your name and address. They could come to your house, but why would they?
You might be sliiiightly overestimating the cost of a stove and pans.
Have you tried two pans at the same time? Solves the one by one problem quite nicely.
But under current versions of lemmy, there is no way to block other instances from accessing data from your instance.
Defederating at this point, won’t stop threads copying lemmy.world content and showing it to their users. All it will do is keep lemmy.world users from interacting with threads content and users.
Future versions of lemmy may allow blocking outgoing federation, but until then blocking threads offers little benefit to the users.
Meta can scrape lemmy data. There’s little that can be done to stop that on a public website. Even if lemmy.world was able to prevent sending any data to threads, they could get it another way.
Just because the servers know about each other, doesn’t mean the users can. Lemmy and mastodon are not fully interoperable. Given the slow and measured development of threads, it will be a long time before they start supporting Lemmy.
As far as I can tell, lemmy.world is configured to federate with a blocklist instead of an allowlist. Threads is on lemmy.world’s list of linked instances because lemmy automatically links unblocked instances. The admins haven’t blocked threads, but they haven’t actively added threads either.
Lemmy.world is taking an approach of waiting and seeing, which is reasonable at this point.
Nearly all settings are stored in .config in your home directory. It’s a hidden directory so you may need to find that option in your file browser.
Rename .config to something else, .config_old for example, then reboot. The system will notice the lack of config files and generate new default ones.
Some settings are stored elsewhere like .local/share but this should reset most of the settings while still allowing you to restore the old configurations if needed.
That one loaded fine for me.
Temporary outages are likely the result of the server being unable to handle the load. If youtube changed their system it would take a while for a fix.
Piped is web software anyone can host. Like Lemmy, everyone piles into the biggest instance with most memorable / searchale name, thus overloading it.

Try another instance and see if it solves the issue.
I still don’t know what a preposition even is. What are they even for?
