Yeah probably, a surprising amount of Icelandic idioms have Danish/Norwegian counterparts

I love the Norwegian “helt Texas” or “completely Texas”, which means something’s totally crazy. Probably a reference to Westerns.
Icelandic is full of fun idioms:
“He’s totally outside driving” = he’s very incorrect about something, possibly crazy
“It’s hard to grab his horns” = He’s very headstrong and stubborn
“A wave rarely comes alone” = If something bad happens, usually a lot of bad things happen at once
“He hasn’t peed into the salty sea” = he’s young an inexperienced
“He has unclean flour in the corner of the bag” = he’s untrustworthy
“I totally come from the mountains” = I’m out of the loop, unaware of recent developments
Icelander here, yup definitely Iceland. If the mountains don’t give it away then the woolen sweater and the small horse definitely do.
Spotify has that bug too, and it’s infuriating. Whenever I’m on a plane or something I have to put Spotify in “offline mode”, otherwise it just refuses to play all the music I’ve downloaded.
Community! If you like The Good Place you’ll love it. It’s my favorite show of all time
Well if it makes you feel better, lemmings don’t actually leap off cliffs. It’s a myth that started with a 50s Disney nature documentary where the crew literally threw some lemmings off a cliff. Pretty messed up.
Scientology was deemed as a cult in the early days. L.Ron Hubbard spent much of the 50s and 60s sailing around the Mediterranean with his own fleet of ships. Later they started fighting hard against the US government, going so far as to infiltrate several government buildings and destroying all documents the government had on them. Look up “Operation Snow White” if you don’t believe me.
Scientology reached tax-excempt status in 1993. My guess is they’ve fought dirty to get to that place, they probably have some inside-men in the government or they some have dirt on certain congressmen.
Allow me to introduce you to Smash! They’re basically chocolate covered Bugles and they’re amazing. Very popular in Scandinavia.
