ImFresh3x@sh.itjust.worksto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•what are your fun, low stakes new year resolutions?9·2 years agoI’m gonna start doing my Duolingo more. Even if it’s just a few minutes at bedtime.
ImFresh3x@sh.itjust.worksto linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Can I get a filesystem cleanup on aisle 6?61·2 years agoWell ya. That is why were are here in this thread right now. But also having a sign you can change easily is probably also useful.
ImFresh3x@sh.itjust.worksto Linux@lemmy.ml•Steam Linux Marketshare Surges To Nearly 2% In November52·2 years agoIt’s not just a percentage thing. 1 person yesterday to 2 people today is a 100% increase. Not much of a surge, at least in terms of news worthiness. Going from 6% to 10% sounds more news worthy than going from 1% to 2% despite the latter being a much larger percentage increase.

ImFresh3x@sh.itjust.worksto Fediverse@lemmy.world•lemmy.ml and hexbear.net has been banned in ChinaEnglish2·2 years agoThis is true. I was kidding. That said, the Chinese government does engage in social media. And they probably would see lemmy users as a poor messenger, if they cared about lemmy.

ImFresh3x@sh.itjust.worksto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What topic do you LOVE to talk about, but rarely get to?1·2 years agoI’d really love to see some starting point information I can digest on this subject. If you have any please share.
ImFresh3x@sh.itjust.worksto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How often do you write a reply but don't post it because the argument just isn't worth it?3·2 years agoI just don’t check replies to everything I write. I’m not trying to go back and forth for days. But ya, I delete quite a few drafts.
Leaving the shopping cart in a parking spot and not in the cart corral.
ImFresh3x@sh.itjust.worksto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What topic do you LOVE to talk about, but rarely get to?2·2 years agoMy uncle did this in retirement. Dual citizenship US - Italy. Moving to southern Italy village of less than 20k population means 7% flat tax for 10 years. He’s probably saving 100k per year in taxes. Which pays a lot toward a nice villa, a sailboat, dinners out, and travel money.
I don’t know all the details (yet). I also have US/Italian/EU citizenship, so it’s something I thing about. I think about living in a sailboat in the Mediterranean often.
It’s all very interesting. Your method is even more intriguing.
Have any good resources in the topic you can share?
Reddit was not much different in the beginning. It was kinda of weird and had a super Linux tech nerd culture with a circle jerky political culture. There was kind of a nice time between that and now, even though it was still niche. Hopefully we can see something like that again but without all the private interest ruining it in the end. But yeah, I’m with you.
