It doesn’t ruin the analogy at all because you’d still need to plant apple trees to make an orchard! It’s just that apples aren’t true to seed so apple trees you plant give nasty apples. It’s more of a fun fact about apples lol.

As if people stopped saying cis het would somehow reduce bigotry.
In the example you give in the OP, it’s relying on the guess that it would be unlikely that Kamala wins and Tesla goes up OR that Kamala loses and Tesla goes down. Those were still possible outcomes though.
Me reading this like “Noooo, if you plant Awesome Amy Apples you won’t get Awesome Amy Apples, you have to graft Awesome Amy Apples branches onto existing apple trees to get Awesome Amy Apples!”
Options trading is very much more like gambling than traditional buying/selling stocks.
I really dislike it. Maybe the newer versions are better but there were some very confusing details about the actions and you can’t really ask without letting people know your secret objective. Plus, if a newer player is randomly assigned betrayer mid game? Good luck helping them without reading their rules.
Fortunately, Lemmy has public modlogs. This helps users catch bad moderators and report them to other moderators/admins as well as make informed decisions on whether people bemoaning bans actually deserved them or not.
Slowroll is new and still experimental, but it’s a third option.
But leaves are suuuuuuuper valuable now.
I’ve been considering reporting streetlights that don’t point straight down because they technically violate city codes.
We will trees for lumber. This isn’t cynical at all.
Edit: idk if I meant kill trees or will cut trees lol.
Being bad at chess doesn’t mean you aren’t smart.
No, that’s their normal one that’s not rolling.
The song predates that by five years.

Frank Loesser’s son, John, was interviewed about the song by the Palm Bean Post in 2010 that was reprinted on the official site for his dad. From the article:
“My father wrote that song as a piece of special material for he and my mother to do at parties,” says John Loesser, who runs the Lyric Theatre in Stuart, and is the son of legendary composer Frank Loesser (Guys and Dolls, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying.)
Frank Loesser’s wife, Lynn, was a nightclub singer who had moved from Terre Haute, Ind. to New York in search of a career. She was singing in a nightclub when she met Frank Loesser around 1930.
The song itself was written in 1944, when Loesser and his wife had just moved into the Hotel Navarro in New York. They gave a housewarming party for themselves and when they did the number, everybody went crazy.
“We had to do it over and over again,” Lynn Loesser told her kids, “and we became instant parlor room stars.”
Performers started to take note of the song, and record covers of it. It’s also featured in the 1949 musical comedy Neptune’s Daughter as sung by Ricardo Montalbán and Esther Williams below. And in that movie, it takes an ironic tone since the movie takes place in a warm climate. It also earned Loesser an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
This song is cute and happy but the lyrics are absolutely devastating and make me cry. https://open.spotify.com/track/2E3hdMguyNDQswLXyUotYR

[Verse 1]
Two ravens in the old oak tree
And one for you and one for me
And bluebells in the late December
I see signs now all the time
The last time we slept together
There was something that was not there
You never wanted to alarm me
But I’m the one that’s drowning now
[Verse 2]
I can sleep forever these days
Cause in my dreams I see you again
But this time-fleshed out fuller face
In your confirmation dress
It was so like you to visit me
To let me know you were okay
It was so like you to visit me
You’re always worried about someone else
[Bridge]
At your funeral I was so upset
So, so upset
In your life you were larger than this
Statue statuesque
[Chorus] (x2)
I see signs now all the time
That you’re not dead, you’re sleeping
I believe in anything
That brings you back home to me
I hate this song. Literally sobbing at the fear of the state my mental health would be in if my wife suddenly passed.
Ughhh, no no no no no. It’s them debating on what excuse she will use so the community doesn’t slut shame her!
It sounds really appealing! I wish it wasn’t considered experimental or I’d consider it for my daily driver.
Have you tried that other one? Slowroll? I forget what it’s called. It’s like tumbleweed but with monthly releases instead of constant.
I could’ve sworn Proton used e2e encryption (with other proton users I suppose) and that was part of why it didn’t integrate well with third party tools. But yes, even if it is, the majority of people/services that you email aren’t e2e encrypted so it’s very important to remember.
