Ugh, that’s so annoying. Every time windows updates i have to open the BIOS and put ubuntu first on the boot order so it doesn’t skip grub.
I Also have a drive that i can access on both linux and Windows and every so often Windows will make it inaccessible on Linux because it didn’t fully unmount the drive.

Windows 95
Windows 2000
Odds are if you don’t know how to exit vim you probably don’t want to save whatever you wrote in there.

Just to make it clear for anyone coming in now, the problem was solved! Thanks everyone for all the help.
It was really simple in the end, all i did was shift+shutdown on windows and it worked.
Yes, shift+shutdown worked.
That worked! Thanks.
But like, i’m pretty sure i turned off fast boot, not sure why windows was still doing this hybrid shutdown bs.
Will try, thanks.
Yes, that’s the first thing i tried.
Edit: I guess i didn’t, since shift+shutdown worked. Or at least i did, but windows said: “I’m going to ignore that”
I don’t get why some people think subs are so much better.
It’s not necessarily better, but it’s closer to the original material. Dubs often change various things in order to adapt it to their language, these changes are sometimes good, sometimes bad. Sure the translations are not perfect either, but they’re not limited by lip-syncing and therefore tend to be more accurate.
For example:
Say a character makes a pun that only works in japanese;
Even a very good dub, will have to replace this pun with something else that fits the lip-syncing and makes sense in their language.
But a sub can keep the original joke and have a little asterix at the corner explaining that word A and word B look similar in japanese or something like that.
Plus, those of us who don’t have english as their first language are often already used to subs, since not as many things are dubbed in our language, and when they are, it’s usually terrible.
That said, use whatever works best for you.
Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll see which one works best for me.
Thanks! I’ll check it out.
Your input is very accurate. Being able to write notes freely anywhere on the page, draw on it, attach images, links, etc is a big part of it, but one of the most important things to me is organizing different pages into dividers/binders like you said.
I set up various sections for quests, locations, npcs, etc, for my rpg worlds, and need it to be well organized and be able to link to different sections within the same binder. I also like to color code everything.
I’m pretty sure the average person wouldn’t even be able to tell the difference between something like mint and windows.
Linux is as user-friendly as the user wants it to be.
Blasphemy!
