Help, I’m in a loop - between this ask Lemmy and this comment

It shifted with age and with their separation. As a kid, yes, a lot of contact. Later on, no, not much communication. In between mainly during meals, I guess. As far as I remember anyway.
When I moved away there was little contact. When I moved back we had more contact.
My mother, which I was very close/open with died. My father drifted into “alternative thinking”, during covid I increased distance because I was unable to assess risk through them, and it never really recovered. Today, the very different world view and reasoning base are hindrances to being closer.

What if they have Goodminton skills instead?

Me: Hello
Also me: Hello

Well, not the yelling along part, but my most recent one:

Now I’m interested.
I have a dislike for cutscenes. Often during gameplay, suddenly you lost control, often behavior is inconsistent, and you have to wait to be able to continue to play.
The half-life series shows how it can be done without. Story without losing control. Characters do their scripted behavior within the context of the world.
Two days is not ghosting if they’re busy or struggling.
Personality and relationship/closeness matters, as well as expectations.
Ghosting can be disappointing and can be hurtful.

Did you get it as a tattoo as well?

Have you ever lost desktop icons in this busy painting? :)
What’s your book genre and about?
Patchwork just like my software projects.
I have no downtime like that. Quite the contrary. I have too much work, too many responsibility, and want to fix and improve things that annoy me which adds more.
I do visit programming.dev, which is a distraction, but tangential in my field of work, sometimes directly useful.

Offer the support, offer the help, offer the talk or discussion, and leave it at that. If need be, occasionally/rarely remind.
Everything else would depend on closeness, personality, relationship, and urgency. Mostly, random online friends, there’s an inherent distance, and not the mutual respect and experience together to excuse personal boundaries. Overstepping those would require previous agreements.

As a video platform yes, yes, yes, no, no, no, no
Sometimes I open clickbait. Sometimes I skip clickbait when it would have potentially interested me otherwise because it’s clickbait.
Most of the time clickbait prevents me from making a reasonable judgement about what the comment is and whether it would be interesting to me or valued by me.
I guess clickbait is a big issue for the positive health of the platform, but certainly not the only one.

I don’t use it either, I use an electric razor, but
The foam will moisturize and add fat to your skin. It reduces skin irritation when using a razor - physical razor force which can irritate skin to various degrees.
If you don’t have any skin issues with just water, lucky I guess, must be very moist/fatted or robust skin, or very sharp razor with good technique. :)

Some whole ago I bought an USB rechargeable fan/unduster thing which is surprisingly powerful.
It didn’t have a particular need, you can use your lungs to blow air after all, or fall back to physical. The low price got me interested and to buy.

I bought a smart watch for 12 €, which I wouldn’t have bought over 15 or 20 because I had no need or particular want.
More than checking time it tracks my pulse, steps, and sleep.
Nushell - I love that it exists, and I find it a joy to use over other shells - stable and rich enough as a productive driver, and being actively developed towards a stable 1.0
C# - three more days until the next release, which adds only a few useful-to-me extensions, but the existing base, stability, and usefulness are part of its charm
