The actual answer is pretty simple: Donating the body to “science”. Last Week Tonight recently made an entire episode about this: donating your organs and body and where it can end up (and especially in the case of donating the body, it can end up in all kinds of places).

So it’s ethically as in the people donated it and were aware of giving it away, but at least most of them certainly didn’t know that this is what their skulls could end up being used for.

Yes. It may be a bit silly but I’m pretty happy / proud that I’ve had some contact with him while working on it :D

Ruffle: You may not know it but most old Flash games (and basically every anmiation) can be played again with this, modern and in a Browser sandbox. Website owners can include it in the backend with a few lines of code and all flash games work again automatically, and it’s also available as desktop app :D

I looked at Whiskey but as far as I can see, that’s just… a Wine wrapper and not related to Proton.
I mean I appreciate the comment, thanks, but I have Wine installed via Homebrew and it works without any real problems.

Everything Valve does to Proton eventually makes it way back upstream to Wine proper.

Ah okay, that’s nice. I wasn’t completely sure about that. At least if that’s the case and the projects are so related, I’m wondering why Proton doesn’t work on macOS. I could have imagined the code bases to start to differ more and more.

But I mean, I’m fine with Wine (or to be exact the Wine/Crossover version I can get with Homebrew).

I sometimes wish Proton was also available on macOS… But Wine is good enough I guess, and still works great for most games :)

I’m still using an iPhone 7. I might get an upgrade at some point because multiple things are broken and I don’t really have space on the storage anymore, but I totally agree that you can live many years with the same phone without any problems.

At compared to the other western countries, the gun rights in the US are a huge difference to almost all others. Switzerland is the one big exception I can think of, partly because of the huge shooting history / culture (which is often still actively celebrated) and because soldiers can take a private weapon to home (which had the original sense that in case of war, they could directly have a gun).

That’s just not true / comparable. While Austria has more gun rights than in most other Western countries, it’s nothing in comparison to the US. In Austria, the only guns you can freely buy are single shot guns. And for those, you need to wait three days until you get them.
To get a very limited amount of semi-automatic weapons, you need to, similar to other western countries, have a Weapons possession card that’s subject authorization. To get it, you don’t only need a psychological report but also a justification, be 21 and need to fit other requirements. You also need to report every weapon you get so Austria knows where the weapons are.

In the US meanwhile, it depends on the state you’re living very much, but in some states, you can get semi-automatic weapons (which are completely banned in Austria) in a shop in just minutes. And that without any background checks, psychological reports, justifications, approval required, without anything like that. In many states even convicted criminals can get guns like that. And it’s often not even age restricted. In the US, guns are sometimes a presents for kids which they can just…own and use (while in Austria everything is obviously 18+).

And the biggest difference is carrying a gun. In Austria, you are not allowed to carry them in public (and getting that licence is almost impossible for normal people). While in the US (in many states), you can just carry any gun around in public whatsoever. So even if the police sees you having weapons in public, they can’t / don’t do anything about that, because it’s just legal.

I general, the gun rights in Austria are bigger than in most of other Western Europe. But even Obama’s 2012 proposal to significantly lower the freedom of guns in the US would have resulted in still much bigger gun rights than in Austria. There is just a huge difference.

Also there are around 1.332.000 guns in Austria, with around 9.2 million people, that’s around 14 guns per 100 people.

Ich verstehe das schon. Also auf den Papst bezogen, um das in Worte zu fassen, die gerade geistliche beziehungsweise ihn ansprechen würden oder seiner Logik folgen würden, macht das doch schon Sinn. Und wenn man das in dem Kontext sieht, hat sie nicht Unrecht.

Wenn du kurzfristig eine Krankmeldung brauchst, würde ich in die Notfall-Ambulanz einer Psychiatrie in der Nähe gehen; die können dir eine geben und dir einen Termin für eine Diagnose geben. Du meintest aber, du wirst gemobbt. Das klingt echt schrecklich, wie du es beschreibst. Ich weiß nicht, ob du da so weiter arbeiten solltest. Gibt es irgendeine Abteilung auf der Arbeit im Bereich Human Resources, an die du dich wenden kannst, wenn du so gemobbt wirst? Wenn nicht solltest du vielleicht daran denken, den Arbeitsplatz zu wechseln. Du verdienst es auch, an einem Ort zu arbeiten, an dem du keine Angst vor deinen Kollegen haben musst und nicht gemobbt, sondern mit Respekt behandelt wirst.

Lmao das ist gut. BSW ist klar eine rechte Partei, siehe Flüchtlinge, Ukraine, (Corona), Sarah Wagenknechts Einstellung zum Thema LGBTQ, etc. Dass an manchen Stellen ein wirtschaftspolitisch linker Ton angehaucht wird (und das auch nicht durchgehend, an anderen Stellen wirkt auch die Wirtschaftspolitik wie an Erhard orientiert), ändert nichts an der eigentlichen gesellschaftspolitisch rechten Ausrichtung der Partei.

Letztendlich gibt es halt Gesellschaftspolitik und Wirtschaftspolitik. Die FDP ist als Beispiel gesellschaftspolitisch links und hat aber ihren großen Fokus auf der wirtschaftspolitisch rechten Ausrichtung. BSW geht den umgekehrten Weg und ist wirtschaftspolitisch eher links, aber gesellschaftspolitisch hart rechts und setzt dies auch als den klaren Fokus der Partei.

Niemand wählt die AfD, weil sie in der Wirtschaft ebenfalls rechte Positionen fordert (die meisten Wähler würden sich damit selbst sehr schaden). Es geht um die gesellschaftspolitisch rechtsextremen, ausländerfeindlichen und rassistischen Positionen. Um Kulturkrieg, könnte man auch sagen. Und dieses Millieu wird von BSW genau so angesprochen, nur eben, wie der Artikel sagt, in einer Lite-Variante, also (noch) nicht so extrem oder klar extremistisch.
