Had some issues with EAC and getting games to run OOTB which was an issue with spontaneously playing weird and obscure games. If I or we would plan our sessions properly it wouldn’t have been a problem though

Fully agree on the EA thing, as well as ubishit constantly being buggy and a pain to work with though.

If you only slightly press down your brakes you can easily overcome that by applying more gas.

IMO that happens extremely rarely though

I personally use windows (I play a lot of different games with friends, and setting all of them up in Linux is a lot of work) and I hate it.

However my mum only uses her laptop for browsing and zoom calls, so I installed Linux mint on that and it’s been going great, there are soooo much less issues than with modern windows.

A colleague dropped about 450 kg of ready to use drywall filler from 6m height right before his shift ended and mine started. I spent about 8 hours just cleaning up the biggest blobs with a snow shovel, that’s how much it was.

Try putting the cartridges in a dehumidifier or wrapping them in paper and placing them on top of your radiators for a few hours, just be careful that they don’t get too hot (more than 50°C could be problematic)

Hybrid watch. Still has the hands for manual time reading but in the middle is an eInk display for notifications. I have to charge it about every 3.5 weeks which is amazing. (Fossil gen 6 Hybrid)

Sounds similar to the German THW (Technisches Hilfswerk - engl. Federal Agency for technical relief) It’s 99% (unpaid)¹ volunteers, and they assist in case heavy/specialized equipment is required. For example they build large pipelines and water reservoirs in case of wildfires to supply the firefighters, build tent cities including drinking water filtration, sanitary and kitchen facilities, as well as recovery operations after disasters².

While they mostly act locally (supporting buildings after fires, or recovering car wrecks when the firefighters don’t have big enough equipment) they do have some international quick-response forces.

¹ The volunteers are insured via the state, and employers in non-critical jobs are required by law to release them in case of an alarm.

² They were initially founded as a civilian service to restore infrastructure and recover civilians during wartime, (Ziviler Bevölkerungsschutz - engl. civil protection) they thankfully haven’t needed to do that job and nowadays focus on natural disasters, both national and intentional.
