I’m not sure why the other post didn’t show it though… it’s been pretty consistent for me personally.
The most annoying thing about being famous is having to tell everyone how famous you are.

A bit of a warning: currently “read posts” also includes your own posts on your profile. If you like to check in on your posts often it can be a bit annoying but otherwise it’s a really really useful feature for general lemmy use.
I know some apps have a “mark as read” button. Those can then be filtered by disabling the “show read posts” setting. But also having to hit the button each time on every post can get a bit tedious.
Now that cross posting directly is getting more support it would be cool for Lemmy to have a setting where it marks ALL cross posts as read as soon as one of them is. That way they would be filtered out by the “show read posts” setting along with the original.
The first one is already doable to some extent. In settings you can disable “show read posts” and it’ll hide every post You’ve already opened before.
Albums aren’t supported on Lemmy yet. The work around is that you can put as many images as you want in the description of the post though.
I haven’t messed with the theme. Purely default for all I know.
A CLASSIC
Ah damn. That sucks. Might need to be a request to the Lemmy devs then instead. Thank you for the reply and all the work you’ve put into the app.
Reality is, these people exist. Despite your protests they are real. Your argument is based on them either not existing or being a mistake.
There is simply no way we can ever align on this issue if we can’t fundamentally agree that all people are people. Enjoy the rest of your day. I’m not continuing this.
Is there any way to filter out read posts on the main feed but NOT on your own profile? Every time I want to see if a conversation on one of my posts has continued I have to manually go into settings, enable read posts, and then I can continue. I’d love it if the profile page ignored that setting or had its own unique setting for your own posts.
I simply don’t care about the rest of the argument. It is disgusting to call millions of people a rounding error.
You’re right. I reread and you didn’t state the binary aspect. That was an assumption on my end due to previous times I’d heard a similar argument comparing humans and computers on this topic. I apologize for misreading and misunderstanding your point.
It’s worth noting that humans do not come in a sex binary. Intersex is a lot more common than people think it is, just often in ways that are invisible. I know 3 intersex people personally that are all intersex in different ways. None of them would fall into either “binary” category.
Edit: To add to this, what about people with testicles that CANT produce sperm? Or people with a vagina but have had to have their womb removed due to a medical complication? These also don’t fall under either definition given. Oftentimes rigid systems are only good for excluding people even if that isn’t the intention.
Humans are very much NOT binary when it comes to hardware. Intersex is a lot more common than people think though often in ways that aren’t exactly visible. I know 3 intersex people personally that are all intersex in different ways.
Wow that’s beautiful. That should go in !bestoflemmy@lemmy.world
Did you mean “this post is my favorite post on Lemmy” or “this comment I am writing right now is my favorite comment on Lemmy”?
A true classic!
