I wasn’t expecting the replies here to be so condescending. I obviously made a mistake.

Jurassic Park 1
Blade runner 1
2001: a Space Odyssey
The Matrix 1
They all hold up so well and in particular their vfx. In the Matrix it’s probably more the plot than the vfx, even though it had merit coining that frozen up bullet time shot aesthetic. But in general every time I watch these I can’t help but marvel at how well put together they are and then I remember when they were released and then I compare them to the mediocre releases decades after that and yeah. I’m in awe.
Hehehehe selling art is very hard already, you want to do so to a race of snobbish aliens? I mean 100% with you that’s what they will attempt, but I have my doubts on profitability
No, lol I think the lemming saying we would try to nuke them is spot on but jokes aside most people wouldn’t give a rats arse about these new aliens and only a very small minority would try to create art that appeals to their tastes- just to see if they can cater to their standards.
No, all I can say is when I was a child my mother and occasionally grandmother had that effect. It started to get less effective during my teens and it’s certainly no longer a thing anymore. As for other sources that truly nurture AND make me feel safe, no, I can’t think of a single one. I’ve had plenty of people taking nurturing and protective roles in my life but I wouldn’t say their effect was of full restoration and complete safety. Same goes for places. Something is always amiss or not enough for full recharge and safety.
I don’t know, I don’t think I have one of these in a consistent manner. Home space isn’t necessarily that effective for everyone, so it’s not a given.
That I couldn’t boot up my laptop. I’m yet to try turning it on. I think I need a nap first
I loved this movie and if I was to read a summary I would think it’s boring as hell. But it’s not. It’s on my Made Me Cry list, has an amazing female main character and a solid romance that is not cliche, and I typically cringe at movies with too much romance. This one is good. I +1 your recommendation.
You want consumer engagement. Tip the scales in your favor as much as possible
I know the feels, you are not alone
You don’t, I’m sorry. It sounds like the only scenario you’d be happy in is if your friend is happy to share you, although from the sounds of your story your friend wouldn’t be happy to share you. Which means one of you wants more in the relationship and haven’t cleared business about it. I would recommend you talk this with them. Maybe it can work between you two or maybe you realise your friend isn’t as dependent on you as you think. If they’re clinging to you but you want to move on please cut those strings, they only become more and more painful with time.
A sign for time to chop the core before giving it to doggie
Citrus, in particular grapefruit, would be also a good option to freak out people
The 5th element
Die Hard 1
Back to the Future, any
Jurassic Park 1
The Lion King
Road to El Dorado
Surely I’m forgetting a few but these come to mind now
A black knitted beanie
I like how working in the film industry has made you shutter instead of shudder
I’m sorry it didn’t improve as much.
I can’t say I loved coffee the first time I tried it. It took years for it to get better, and eventually it did. An acquired taste for sure… Hopefully the same applies to my spine? Thanks for sharing
Glad to know that worked out for you! Thanks for sharing
If they can vote, they can also run as candidates, right? (Or swim, idk). I’m not sure how they would vote but I might consider voting them
