We had a 2 drinks limit at company after hours gigs. Not that bad, but it was apparently because someone drank a bunch and then walked onto a highway. There was also the time the FBI came into the building to ask about a sales guy who took part in 1/6.
My partner was like this till his 30s, and I was a bit jealous having been kicked out at 18. He was able to buy a house( with an admittedly amazing APR) with the money he was able to put away with this method. While he didn’t pay rent he helped around the house, and was a near-guaranteed dog sitter. I think that as long as the situation works for everyone it’s a great leg up. If someone has a judge-y attitude towards it they’re probably jealous haha.
Your parents (likely) had better opportunities to get that house than you do now. Give yourself some grace, just make sure you’re helping out where you can :)
Growing up we had a German shepherd with HUGE ears we called Moose, but her main name was PITA. Now I’ve have a dog I adopted and gave the name ‘Dug’ (from UP), and will call McDouglass as a bit when he’s done something wrong
The Temeraire Series by Naomi Novik is one I go back to every now and then. Historical fiction where dragons serve the purpose of air force during the Napoleonic Wars in England. I stared reading, but also quite like the audible narration.

I grew up near a nuclear plant as well! We even got mailed the potassium iodide pill in case of emergency. I’m awful at onomatopoei, but it sounds like ours were different. Mine scaled up to a high, monotonous whine.
I’ll add another bee one to the pile; I had a lady very confidently tell me that you don’t see bees during the winter because they migrate. I wanted to correct her, but all I could think of was Monty Python. “Are you suggesting bees migrate‽” it’s also hard to explain that they also don’t hibernate, but create a sort of space heater around the queen.
They just got through the US, EU, and UK courts regarding the Activision/Blizz acquisition. In which they gave up some streaming rights to Ubisoft to appease concerns ragarding game pass monopoly. It’s probably on their mind.

Just got it going on my end. I’ve been pretty happy with Memmy, but I can’t say no to the Outrun theme. Most of the apps I’ve sampled have had an ‘Apollo’ feel, but this might be the closest so far.
I like how it displays the instance name in the front page, but I’ve found usernames useful so I can block individual spammers.
