I looked into them a while ago, and from what I can find, they seem to be legit in that they really do use the profits for tree planting.

The ‘witch hunter’ seemed to present a compelling case that you’re not engaging in the community in good faith. How do you explain having so many contradictory posts?
If your state salts the roads in the winter, it’s strongly recommended to undercoat your vehicle with a coating to preserve it from rusting and shortening its useful life. Fluid Film is one of the better coatings, and is based on sheep lanolin, so it’s not toxic to the environment.
4wheel drive is nice, but tires are EVERYTHING. You absolutely cannot rely on all season tires, you MUST get proper Winter tires if your region snows heavily, or you will have a bad time.
There are now fabric snow ‘socks’ for cars that act like snow chains to get you out if a bind, which would be worth having in the trunk.
In the winter, ALWAYS bring winter rated clothing in the car along with water, a small amount of food, heavy duty blanket, and a small liquid paraffin candle for heat in the event you get stuck in a storm, or go off the road from ice.
I believe to ping someone, you need to put an @ symbol before their name instead of /u/. Depending on how you’re interacting with Lemmy (web or app) it should provide some means of auto completing the ping.
Welcome! :)
I figure it’s not too different from a regular text post here, so if there’s a community that seems relevant to the post somehow, that’d prolly be best.
As to how to find them, I’d recommend the communities tab of lemmyverse explorer, and searching a word or category that seems close to what you’re posting to see if there’s a community that already exists for it.
Thirding Keychron! Had a great experience with them.
Frozen Bubble is a solid Puzzle Bobble clone
I go there to steal content for Lemmy, but rarely post unless its to bring attention to an important cause.
For minor things it works alright. For slightly advanced things, like making making curved text, it’s not intuitive compared to Photoshop. Though personally, even for minor things I found Krita more pleasant.
A UI designer made this little short about Gimp, which I think captures the sorta things that can be frustrating.
I’m extremely pleased to hear they will be taking UI seriously.
Not great. You’d probably want to flash lineage os on it for security, which apparently works okay.
Ooh, that’s nice. I could see that effectively replacing disqus comments below articles. Cool beans!
You’re absolutely right! I had bubble bobble confused with puzzle bobble.
Smaller phones do still exist, such as the Unihertz Jellystar or upcoming Jelly Max.
Mull, 1List, Notally, and Cheogram are pretty heavily used.
Endless Sky is a solid space trader and combat game, free on f-droid
Frozen Bubble is a pretty fun bubble bobble Puzzle Bobble clone, also on f-droid
Arx Libertatis allows you to play the full version of Arx Fatalis, a super in depth underground RPG inspired by Ultima Underworld. You need the PC game files to transfer to your phone though.
I don’t believe so. The only options I see in the settings is the ability to export and import lists and notes manually with a file.
1List is the best list-making app I’ve tried that’s open source. Really polished and quick.

Along those same lines, Notally is the best note taking app I’ve tried.

And since someone else mentioned Voyager, I’ll mention Eternity as well!

Lastly, Weawow is the best weather app I’ve used, though Quickweather on f-droid is a close second (but requires an API key to work, so bit of a hassle to set up).

It’s great for making chili, since 7 minutes of pressure cooking replaces an hour of simmering, It can make quick rice based meals with the addition of a handful of ingredients like a rice cooker can, and replaces a slow cooker for any meals that require it.
It also can make yogurt, though I haven’t tried that yet myself.
Besides upgrading to an SSD like another person said, I guess an electronic pressure cooker was a pretty sweet upgrade. It’s incredibly multi purpose, cuts cooking time dramatically, allows me to walk away and forget about cooking with no consequence, and often only requires cleaning a single pot for an entire meal.
Like ya know those old TV ads for kitchen gadgets that try desperately to convince you it’ll change your life, but you never actually use them? An electronic pressure cooker is one the few cooking gadgets that actually lives up to the hype.
I think XMPP would be the most appropriate tech for us to adopt, since it’s easily self-hostable, has great mobile apps, is federated, and doesn’t require an always connected bot to record chat history to know what was said while you were away. It’s functionally an improved IRC.
