I’ve somehow lost rolls to cats rolling in either direction, so my TP roll is now often found in the cabinet above the toilet.
They’ve been my go to for headphones & speakers for a while, but my last few purchases of different models all ended up getting returned due to the same connectivity issues. Sitting at home, the headphones are fine, but when I’m out for a walk, they experience some sort of interference that causes the music to skip/stutter. I still have an old, long discontinued, pair of Anker earbuds, and when I go for the same walk with those, there’s zero connectivity issues.
Ummm… I might be misunderstanding something, but I feel like I’ve been able to do exactly that here. Are you using an app or browsing directly on the website?
The app I’m using (Thunder) allows me to block users, communities, or entire instances, and also has keyword filtering.
I’ve used Windows since I can remember… at least since Windows 95, then probably early 2000’s, added OSX into the mix. I currently use an old Mac Mini as my Plex machine, and the computer provided by my employer runs Windows.
My “journey” began around 2015 on an old Dell laptop that I set up to dual boot Windows and Linux. I tried 2 or 3 distros, one of which was probably Ubuntu, before settling on Mint. I remember having enough minor issues with Mint that I kept booting back to Windows, and eventually stopped booting to Mint at all.
Then one day, I have no clue what I was trying to do, but I was confident that I knew what I was doing, so I just went for it without pulling up the instructions. Welp, I ended up deleting my bootloader, or something like that, and now couldn’t boot to any OS. I tried using my parents’ Mac to create a bootable USB, but that wasn’t working. I wound up buying and returning a random open box laptop from Best Buy just so I could create a functional bootable USB. I also found help from a very kind internet stranger who walked me through the process to fix my bootloader. They happened to only use Arch btw, so that’s what we used to get my laptop fixed.
That whole drama really scared me away from fiddling with it for a while, then I just got busy and had no motivation. That laptop is collecting dust and still dual boots Windows (7?) and headless Arch. I’m thinking of fiddling around with Linux again, but most definitely need something more noobie friendly than Arch without a DE.

I understand that air conditioning removes some moisture from the air, but just how much of an effect does it actually have on oral moisture? I was hoping to find some sort of studies with actual measurements of some sort.
Be mindful that … air conditioning nullifies the effects for cavities.
Got any sources for that? My admittedly very brief search just turned up a bunch of stuff about ventilation and COVID/aerosols.

Not quite a command, but I seem to have confused my oldest cat so that he thinks “excuse me” is a threat. He’ll be blocking a doorway, and if I say “excuse me” as I try to pass, he hisses and possibly swats, but if I just silently try to squeeze past, we’re all good. Currently working to undo that one.
Shit, I’d just make a spreadsheet, but then again, I love spreadsheets. Not FOSS, but you could set up a Google Forms to collect the entries in a more user friendly format.
You could probably describe me as a “functional alcoholic”, so I find it pretty hard to imagine that I could be compatible with someone who never drinks. If I were to casually get to know someone through platonic interactions (mutual friends, sports, classes, etc.), I might be able to get to know someone well enough where it could work, but if the initial “get to know you” phase is through 1 on 1 dates, I just can’t see it working out.
Hahaha, definitely something that has crossed my mind more than a few times. I definitely see marriage as a business arrangement between good friends that hopefully includes a romantic/sexual component. Just not really sure how/where to go about interviewing for that role. Lol.
I’m just not thrilled about the idea of sharing a home with a dog, and cohabitation is something I’d like in a long term romantic relationship. I grew up with dogs, and lots of friends family have dogs, so it’s not an absolute, 100% deal breaker, but I hate when they jump on me, I don’t enjoy their “kisses”, and I’m easily irritated by many of the noises they make when I’m chilling quietly at home. I’m also easily irritated by noises that humans make when sharing close quarters, but it’s rare to really notice those on a first date.
I also live in a dense area with very few private yards, so anyone I’m dating likely has a similar living situation, making it so that dating a dog owner has more overlaps than I’d like compared with dating a single parent of a young child. If you want to take an overnight trip together somewhere, you either have to bring the dog/child along, or you have to find a sitter.
On top of that, I have young adult cats, so the possibility of eventually moving in together becomes much more complicated.
An exercise routine has helped me a lot, exercising sporadically, not so much. I don’t really feel a sudden sense of relief from a single session, but I’ve noticed that when I’m working out regularly, I feel better overall. It’s not a sudden change, and not a “cure all”, but it helps me focus better during the day, sleep better at night, crave less junk food/alcohol, and just feel less sense of “everything sucks”. The routine also really helps me stick to other daily habits that I’m embarrassed to admit I struggle with, such as brushing my teeth.
I’m currently working to get back on my full routine, but in the past, I did weightlifting Mon-Fri, with intense cardio (running, stairs, etc.) MWF and chill cardio (walking) TTh. When I was really, really into it, that naturally led to being quite active on weekends too, such as 5k’s, long ass walks around town, and hiking.
My advice to anyone trying to start a routine is to start small and gradually build it up. So step 1 for getting back to my full routine right now is a short daily walk. Once the short walks become a natural part of my daily rhythm, I might make the walks a little longer, add in a little running, and/or add in some light strength training moves, all depending on my overall goals and what feels within reach.
The one that really drives me nuts is when the faucet is too short/too far back meaning that your knuckles are constantly hitting the rear edge of the sink in order to get your palms under the stream. This is especially annoying when it’s in an otherwise large sink!
In the short term maybe, but there’s definitely some areas where things become more affordable when you have two incomes contributing. Housing is a big one, and apparently also taxes.

Oh man, I’ve really slowed down my dating, so it’s hard to remember many of them. I know some of these are actually reasonable, but others are just me looking for faults/expecting perfection:
I was living in a house with a few random housemates… people that I didn’t even meet until I had moved in. They were okay… nothing amazing, nothing too terrible. Somehow, the person I was on the date with realized that they used to know one of my housemates, and absolutely hated them, and wouldn’t stop talking about all of the reasons why my housemate was a terrible person.
