Always enjoy meeting another fan! We really should get a community together here on Lemmy. There’s dozens of us! Dozens!
Real talk: Original iRO were some of the best gaming times of my life. I loved the grind.
Gotten better and better over time.
I’ve learned to always have a backup account on another instance and that’s decreased my downtime to almost zero.
I prefer the content here to Reddit, as Reddit seems to just be clickbait these days.
My favorite thing here is the community. Much less likely to encounter an asshole and even when people disagree, they seem to argue in good faith. Love the Lemmy/knib community feel.
Looking for new members? ;)
Real answer? Because technology could easily do it for you if people tag posts in OP’s proposed way. Just one less thing for a viewer to have to think about.
I’m actually leaving management to be a sole contributor again :)
My baby boy, I’m so glad I get to share what’s worked for me.
My younger peeps seem to thrive on mentorship and coaching. If you don’t already do 1-on-1s (even just meeting every 2 weeks), I recommend starting.
During that time, ask each person what their honest career goals are (even if they involve working elsewhere) and then help them gain the skills they’ll need to achieve those career goals. It’s their responsibility to do the work, but you’re the one helping them stay on track towards the things in their life that matter to them.
I’ve helped folks with all sorts of things from time-management to negotiation to coding to project management.
A tool I’ve found invaluable is the book “FYI: For Your Improvement”. It’s basically a manual for helping improve soft skills. I recommend getting an older version that’s cheaper.
Using this philosophy, I’ve only had folks leave my teams because of pay (which is something I don’t control and am constantly in contention with my company about). I’m still in contact with most who’ve left and one if my former peeps even got me a new job one time.
I hadn’t even thought of this as something that could generate donations, but that it would be just for fun. Very interesting idea.
Maybe there’s some opportunity to make something like this into a celebration kind of like AGDQ where people can donate and then donations get sent out to instances or something. (I don’t know, I’m not clever about that kind of stuff.)
Yeah, I feel challenged by your comment and want to be someone who posts more often. I enjoy commenting and having discussions, but OC hasn’t been my forte. The Fediverse seems like a much less caustic place than Reddit.
I think you make a good point.
I’m don’t post very often, so it’s hard for me to put myself into the shoes of someone who does post good comments frequently. I admire those people, but maybe that’s not the point. Maybe the point is to enjoy their work and try to meet it with posts of my own.
I do and it means they get paid large amounts of money and that they can translate a very select list of words from German to English.
Just reminds us of how much of a luxury you are and how much we appreciate having you around :)
Ya know, I’ve never thought about an SP Ragnarok game, but you’re right.
I know the company has tried to launch other apps/games set in the same universe, but they’re all pretty bad mobile games.
All it takes is the right set of conditions and the right stimuli.
I agree with this completely. It was like the Milgrim experiment where all of a sudden you’d wake up and realize you and the people around you are completely different than you thought. Luckily the spell did break.
Cynical af now, but I try to redeem the past by not contributing to or permitting those environments anymore.
I appreciate the well-wishes, though. Getting better all the time 👍
Always love meeting another fan :) The nostalgia binds us all together.
Really stunning photos all around
I worked for basically a cult.
It taught me invaluable lessons about humanity and how easily people can be manipulated. Now anyone who has that “influencer” atmosphere about them is persona non grata to me.
Bottom row, 2nd from the left. Simple, clean, distinct.
