I’ve done those conversions by hand before, just deleting irrelevant Google junk out of the KML file to import it to OsmAnd~ because I planned my route on the desktop Google Earth app (3D is cool) and exported it to KML. After some edits it usually will import to OsmAnd on the phone
I didn’t have to pay for it, installed from F-Droid, and I can download any map I’ve tried so far. When I’m traveling I like to pre-download the standard map for the whole state if it’s one I don’t already have installed. It’s nice to not have to worry about data / reception.
Overall OsmAnd is a pretty good GPS-map-navigation app, but has several annoyances and bugs. Still better than using Google’s app to me. I need to check out Organic maps too
I think one of his worst pieces of advice is to pay off debts before saving for an emergency fund (if I remember correctly)
Saving some kind of emergency fund first is more important than not having any debts. Having money on hand is worldly power in your hand basically. If you’re debt free but broke, then you can’t deal with an emergency that requires money.

I bought a cylinder head pressure gauge from HF and took it home, didn’t work at all. When I looked at it closely I could see that it was completely missing the core valve that is supposed to be in the bottom. It was just a hole instead of a valve. Took it back for a refund next day.
I wouldn’t even call Ryobi the cheap one, they are good quality and cost more than many others. Harbor Freight is what I’d call cheap - my rule of thumb is that very simple hand tools from HF are OK but anything complex is probably not

This is based on the common factor of young men using semi-auto handguns and rifles to do a lot of murders, before their critical thinking skills are fully mature and stuff
But that’s only a small issue if you look at the actual murder stats. The vast majority of deaths by gun are not committed with “high-end firearms” with only an average 3% of homicides involving rifles. Knives and blunt instruments kill many times more people than rifles. Cheap handguns are the number one firearm used in homicides.

If you feel like you have a bunch of shit stuck on your ass, probably wipe first and then begin the spray. I wouldn’t want shit-clumps splattering all around the bowl area.
What I do is alternate the water and the TP until the TP shows nothing but water. It may take a couple of sprays and wipes, but the end result is a much cleaner ass than wiping alone could ever accomplish. I might be using about 60% as much TP as without a bidet but I don’t care, because my ass is very clean.
BTW this requires decent TP that will hold up to gentle wiping of wet areas, not the cheapest weakest TP will suffice.
Shouldn’t be any problem. I’ve been doing open source ROMs since android v2 and it works fine on AT&T and Verizon.
One caveat is to make sure you have VoLTE working on stock android before you flash a new ROM. Sometimes that must be activated on the carrier with stock android to work on LineageOS or GrapheneOS
I am someone who “tried to get government assistance” too, and I got discounted healthcare from the US government when I was poor. I shared .gov links about those programs to help others who might need free or reduced cost healthcare but might not be aware that community health centers exist. That’s what was “misinformation” according to the Wrongthink Censors.

Anything the mods don’t agree with personally is liable to be deleted. It’s making Lemmy look bad with all the censorship.

Anybody who is afraid of reading words that they don’t agree with needs to grow up. If you don’t get exposed to opposing viewpoints, then you don’t understand reality.
Streaming in general is great. Streaming services are a mixed bag of results, but overall our options are excellent at this point in time. You can have streaming services with no contract, pay for one month and abandon it if you don’t like it. There are also numerous FREE streaming services with lots of great content.
It’s important to understand the above in the context of how it used to be before Streaming was an option. There was basically only the option to have a cable or satellite TV on contract, or use OTA antenna TV, or watch everything on disc / tape. So yeah I think streaming is great.
Having said all that, I buy anything I want to keep perpetually on disc. 4k Blu-ray for movies and CDs for music (I bought 3 albums on CD over the last couple weeks). Games don’t fit on discs anymore so I try to get stuff on GOG when it works out.
