Going to try this, but can you even use operators like this on Google anymore in a any meaningful way?
Not going to downvote you since I use iTunes for streaming, but when they changed their policy a few years ago about DRM, they fucking deleted about 20 songs I wrote and recorded solo or with my bands. My friends had backups, but man that sucked. So beware, I suppose.
A 3.5mm for mixing? I’m with you on all the other stuff, but that’s garbage without RCA.
Nothing to add here, but wanted OP to know I saved this post for all the good info people are giving.
Another one from the Netherlands.
Woah, story time?
Hey, I’ve seen you around before…
Are we more cute when not worrying about zero days?
Part of it would depend on whether or not it has, as required of all self propelled ships above a low threshold GRT, an AIS transceiver. If it’s got one, and it’s on, I can find the ship in seconds (access to multiple large terrestrial and satellite AIS systems at work).
But I guess if they never intend to go anywhere near Port State Control, they could just turn their AIS off. People do it all the time to violate sanctions, avoid pirates, etc.
This is what my Zoomer son said when I asked him as well.
Why would I do that? The statement is in the not the imperative mood, not the interrogative mood. Am I missing some kind of Lemmy etiquette?
I quit once using the Allan book, and everyone I know who read it has, but there is a catch: it will never work a second time.
I quite by accident using much vilified e-cigs. Yeah there is some serious bullshit going on with the super high nic disposables the kids get a hold of, and with disposables in general. But just enforce the damn laws you already have and don’t enshitify or even destroy the thing that probably saved my life 12 years ago!
I don’t think you got down far enough to the place where I explained I did ask them and got a bs answer. Or how I know my Millennials are happy with the job (mostly, there’s always something that could be better). And I did get them a lot more money last year, risking the wrath of every other member of senior management.
Talking down to anyone at my workplace is a huge no no. Our owner/CEO is a seriously old school Cypriot and takes his (mainly British inherited) civility very seriously.
Actually my two most senior people are permanent WFH and I’m quite sure they do this (and I do not care at al).
The ones in our offices, yeah that would not go over well with their colleagues, you are right.
In this case unfortunately it means “objectively not doing the job you are paying them to do.” Like, core job duties.
I did. I fought with my CEO for two months and got everyone in the department except me a massive raise, 15%-20%.
Hey fair enough. But they are, and they tell me all the time because we talk constantly. It was the Zoomers I could not talk to on Skype/whatsapp/signal/slack …whatever platform they wanted. So how did I fail to reach them? That’s what I am wondering as a manger because, yeah a job is just a job, but it doesn’t have to suck, and I as a manager can make it suck much less. It’s within my power, but I cannot do the thing if you don’t ask for the thing despite multiple attempts. There must be something wrong with how I attempt to engage them.
This is a good answer and probably the right solution (still not 100% convinced defederating isn’t, ultimately, going to be the answer though).
But your Jane/Joe Average User doesn’t look to see which instance that
pr0ncute picture of a cat holding a teddy bear is on. They probably don’t even understand the concept of different instances showing content from others. Hell I’ve been online since 1992 and it took me a couple of days to get my head around it when I joined. So I think we need some kind of step by step “If you see X, then do Y” sticked to the instances that care about this for the people who (like me) do care about this issue.
