No problem! As far as graphics go, if you open source then you can specify in your repo’s Readme what parts are under what license.

It isn’t particularly uncommon, and you could even list out specific graphics under what license, or structure them in the repository based on license /assets/licenseName if needed

Imo skip the open source license. You’re wanting to give this specific organization access to your work. If you follow the suggestions here and license it under creative commons or some other open source license then you’re also opening the door for others to use that work. It would be better to give the organization use of your work in its current form but otherwise reserve all rights for yourself, via a custom (non open source) license. This way in the future you can continue doing whatever you want with it, and maybe that means open sourcing when you’re ready to do so.

Ofc if you’re ready to open source now then go for it.

Idk about the meeting thing but do not disturb can do this already. Can set up a multiple schedules to auto turn on/off do not disturb and then allow exceptions from favorite (starred) contacts. You can also allow an exception from someone who calls you 3 times back to back in case they’re calling you from someone else’s phone. And can also allow some apps as exceptions in case you use a 3rd party alarm app or something else that you want to be able to make noise.

Being Mormon.

They always told us that people who gave us anti-mormon literature just made stuff up and it was Satan’s way of tempting us. They said to never take any anti-mormon literature and if someone did give it to you then to throw it away without reading.

But at the same time they taught us that the Mormon church was the true church. And they also taught us truth was absolute. Well, i figured if truth is absolute, and if the church was THE true church then it would be able to withstand any criticism. So i read anti mormon literature, like the CES letter. From there i did my own research about various things and found that the Mormon church made up a lot of stuff and did lots of gaslighting.

There was some specific issues that i also had been struggling with, like their treatment of women, gays, and black men/women. That also helped push me to want to make sure if the Mormon church was really true. And it wasn’t. Now i can love my friends unconditionally.

What advantage is there is changing nameservers? Is it just the centrally manage DNS or something else? I’m fairly new to self hosting and only serving locally for now.

I do know cloudflare uses the same nameservers PER ACCOUNT so if you’re wanting to have multiple domains but keep one or more connections separated from you then this does draw a minor connection to a subset of Cloudflare accounts with the same two nameservers

That is entirely up to the author who is creating the original work. They set the license and people can choose whether or not they want to work with the license. If i wanted to use someone else’s work for commercial purposes then i would just ignore any works released under a NC license. I’m not entitled to someone else’s work just because i need to eat

Of course this could apply to a lot of other things and i realize it isn’t particularly rational. Though on the note of modern needle vs not, a single biopsy on a live animal is causing harm so that’s not a good comparison since that is not vegan by any standard.

But i mention the past suffering here because that is what i would be reminded of eating lab grown meat, rational or not. In general i think if the current process is vegan then it is fine (so using a biopsy on a recently, naturally, deceased animal or from an umbilical cord).

Extracting the stem cells may or may not cause harm to animals. If it is extracted from a live animal then it would cause harm and stress to an animal.

The medium used for growing may not be vegan (like FSB which is extracted from an animals death). But reportedly companies are moving to cheaper, plant-based, mediums.

Even if the process caused no harm or stress to animals, I’m not sure i would eat lab grown meat. I’ve already completely replaced meat in my cooking, and learned how to make much more nutrious meals. Adding meat back in would be regressive. Not to mention i feel like lab grown meat in particular will have been made possible through animal suffering research. While I’m glad it will have potential to be a net positive in the long run, i personally don’t feel the desire to support lab grown meat

In your content folder you could do content/[year]/[month]/[day]/index.md, and have a _index.md in the year and in month folders so there would be pages with automatic collection of articles under that year/ month. You could also subdivide the content folder into health/ general/ shower thoughts and other “types” of journals

They have support for tags, categories, and custom taxonomies. So if you wanted to have “people” category you could, and then a “thing” category or any other sort of way to tag the content.

This is why re-licensing a Free software project, even from GPL-2 to GPL-3 can be really painful: you have to contact each contributor and acquire the right to change the license.

Is that true if you leave in the license the “or (at your option) any later version” text regarding what version youre using? I understood that to mean that even if i accept contributions then my licensing clearly defines it as GPL-3 or later version so I’m able to relicense to a future GPL-4 if i wanted. Or would i still need to get any contributors agreement to relicense?

You also need to pay to just have message history preserved on slack. Discord that information is there for free for as long as the server/discord exists.

I’m not saying people should use discord, but people are using it because it’s free to use.

Shortly, permissive have less to no strings attached to use their code, and copyleft requires you to retain the same licensing terms meaning if you publish under GPLv3 then someone using/ modifying your code needs to also publish under GPLv3. Copyleft licenses ensure that open source code stays open source.
