Flour is a common ingredient for thickening stews etc. Not OP, but if I had to guess I’d wager that the flour soaked up all the moisture in the pan, then dried out and started to burn.
Mostly harmless

Not related, but I was reminded of this old joke: what’s the difference between God and a doctor? God doesn’t think he’s a doctor.
Not this one, thanks for the recommendation, but I’ve heard White Wine In The Sun, and that’s touched me even though I’ve spent all my Christmases in the Northern hemisphere. 🙂
This question reminds me of Tim Minchin’s observations of alternative medicine. By definition, alternative medicine has either not been proved to work, or has been proved not to work.
You know what we call alternative medicine that has been proved to work?
Medicine.
Both of these things can be true. I said it would be safer, you say that when there is trouble, it’d be a much bigger trouble. However, crashing with a rolling car would be a much more common occurrence than with a flying one, where it would basically only happen as a catastrophic malfunction. Nobody would walk out unexpectedly in front of a flying car.
Then again, self driving cars would be much safer off the ground. None of that ‘which pedestrian should we run over’ ethical dilemmas that car industry moral philosophers and actuarials currently grapple with.
Thanks!
What’s P!

I was chatting to my dentist about having a mild fear of pain during the procedure, mainly thanks to Laurence Olivier, and his next question was, ‘Is it safe?’
That was pretty transparent from the outset if you ask me.
They are typing, but slower.
Fair point.
I’m not familiar with RvW, but I’d suspect that in Europe it’s largely member state competency, and the more religious societies might have stricter rules. I know Poland is very prohibitive, and so was Ireland until very recently when a highly publicised human tragedy turned people against the rigid rules of the Church.
Oh I didn’t mean you specifically, it’s just a general comment on how policies of the European centre right parties are labelled in the American media. The Overton window is shifted to the left in Europe.
American lefty, which means you’d be at best centre right in any country with a healthcare system.
In the seventies and eighties the communist leaders of Hungary, when talking about the realities of the time introduced some terms to explain the difference of the real world from the ideals.
“Socialism that exists”
“Socialism that works”
The jokes immediately started coming, pointing out that the socialism that exists does not work, while the socialism that works does not exist.
