It’s more user friendly in a thousand minor ways, such as installing programs, which makes it much more user friendly overall. At least MacOS has a consistent UI that doesn’t massively change every single update

They’re significantly better than windows, and you could make an argument on the stability front compared to Linux

Gotta disagree, the gestures are actually amazing. Only pain point is gaming, but I don’t really do that, and the dev experience is pretty good compared to windows too. Installing programs is as easy as it should be on windows. Fuck msi installers

The redirect thing is definitely just Firefox being weird. It’s generally a basic redirect that triggers a return-to-app, and Firefox isn’t following the redirect properly

Bewarned that the mobile Firefox app is really not great.

• I am a chronic tab-user (I have more than a hundred open right now. Yes I’m using pretty much all of them.) and 70% of the time when hitting the tab button it doesn’t actually scroll to the most recent tab. I have to tap it repeatedly to get to where I was.
• The tab list is horribly wasteful when it comes to space and I see no way to change it.
• Some sites also shit the bed completely when auto-filling from my password manager. Like full on freeze the browser or crash it entirely.
• When an app opens Firefox in an embedded browser to get you to log in, it will pretty much never direct you back to the app after putting your information in. You have to tap the three dots and open it in the actual app for even a chance that it will properly redirect you.
• For 2fa sometimes this doesn’t even work. I have to scan my 2fa key then quickly open it in the actual app through the menu before it finishes loading, otherwise it doesn’t redirect or gets stuck in a login loop. Fun.

The browser is fine overall, don’t get me wrong, there’s just some inconveniences that aren’t getting fixed.

I think you underestimate how expensive licensing music is. As an example, the vast majority of Spotify’s revenue goes to paying licensing fees and is most of the reason they’re wildly unprofitable

Half the time I do that I get fucked by their completely non-existent support or return policies

The first all hands meeting (within three days of being hired) I had at my new job was the CEO talking about legal allegations and indicating he’s going to be much less involved in the day-to-day. Apparently he was pretty well known for being a massive dick and berating employees.

On the bright side, I’ve not had to deal with him once! In the last year-plus I’ve seen him comment on two tickets regarding bugs, but that’s about it. We’ve not had a single all-hands since then. I just started at an unlucky time, haha
