  • I mean, I have screenshots, but k. Funny how I’m now at least the 3rd person to take issue with you and your temper tantrum mod style.

And please, show me the comments where I made “homophobic generalizations” and "doubled down. I made literally ONE comment. Was it snarky? Yes, but it was in no way what you’re characterizing it as. It’s also funny how none of that appears in the modlog.

I’m going to go with the modlog reason

That you chose to purposely mischaracterize what I said.

And finally, feel free to check my history, I think you’ll find it pretty damn spotless, which is a hell of a lot more than I can say for you.

  • You posted a misogynistic meme, I said “i thought we left that in 2023,” and apparently you didn’t like that so you called me a bigot and banned me. None of what I said was homophobic or bigoted. I just didn’t like your meme because it seemed like the millionth time one of us has made an “ew women” joke and it’s tired and shitty to women. So you said I’m homophobic and banned me then told me to fuck off basically.👎 Which cut me off from participating in the largest LGBTQ+ safe space on Lemmy. So yeah.

  • To each his own, but your use case seems like the worst way to accomplish what you need. There are so, so many apps that will allow you to pin a widget to one of your homescreens with a to-do; why on earth would you want to have that living in your notification shade? I have a Keep to-do widget and the Android battery widget on a second homescreen to the right of the main. Exactly as much work as pulling down the shade, except I swipe left instead of down, and no chance of accidentally clearing the persistent notification.

  • Same. I’m an engineer with a very small tech company; even though we’re not FAANG, we sure act like it. I have stuff from so many hobbies just sitting collecting dust in a closet or a drawer because when I get done with work I only have enough energy to feed myself, look after the dog, and do the bare minimum to keep life going until tomorrow, then rinse and repeat.

I think the only thing that’s saved me from total burnout is that my boss is a hardliner on WFH; we maintain a small office space for conferences and meetings, but we’ve been told in no uncertain terms there will be no return to office. That at least lets me take care of small chores like laundry and dishes and runs to the grocery store during the day.

  • I got the Life Q30 (or 35? I don’t know offhand, but they’re pretty similar) as a gift a couple Christmases ago. The sound is…alright out of the box. The stock EQ isn’t the best; I found it to be too bass heavy, but the app lets you set a custom preset. Battery life is really solid, and they come with both a USB-C cable and 3.5mm out of the box. The 3.5 works even if the battery is flat (you just don’t get ANC, obviously). ANC is definitely not as good as my old Bose QCs, but then again I haven’t found much that is. It’s good enough to make flying a lot quieter, though, and they’re loud enough without leaking to make up for the weaknesses in noise cancellation.

  • True wireless in-ears have gotten a LOT better at ANC in the last few generations. Currently, I carry the Pixel Buds Pro as my dailies, but I also have a pair of the Soundcore Liberty 3 Pros. Both are pretty great, I tend to prefer the Pixel Buds because they play nicely with my Pixel. I’ve been through I-couldn’t-tell-you-how-many pairs of true wireless buds, and so far those two are the only ones I haven’t hated wearing for extended periods. I’d give an honorable mention to the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro as well (with the caveat that some of their functionality, including factory reset, requires a Samsung device).

NB: I tend not to like the silicone ear tips, so most of the time when I buy a new pair of buds I’ll buy Comply memory foam eartips. I’ve found they create a MUCH better seal and more confident fit. Evidently my ear canals are weirdly shaped, because no matter what brand, I seem to have trouble keeping anything in my ears and those helped.
