Google removing features, and bringing them back pretending they are new. A tale as old as time.
I don’t know what this is
Google removing features, and bringing them back pretending they are new. A tale as old as time.
Swore there was a flag that allowed you to do this years ago.
Samsung moving to four years of OS updates, and 5 years of security updates, is what pushed Google to adopt this new policy, as Google only offered 3 years of OS updates beforehand. So Samsung will probably try match Google again.
Yes it is, I’m commenting on it right now. You can import all your app settings from the Reddit version of the app too, if you still have it installed, or you still have your config file lying around. It’s what I have done so I have a pitch black theme lol.
They also kill performance if you’re still using a hard drive as your system drive. I know we should all be using SSDs, it’s 2023, but sometimes it’s not always possible
The cover screen seems like an awkward form factor for typing though. There’s a reason Samsung and Motorola have the cover screen take up the full width of the phone, it allows the keyboard to be of a similar size as the one on the inside folding display. Motorola went even further by matching the pixel density of the cover and inner displays for a more consistent experience. Which makes sense when you can use all kinds of apps on the cover screen, which both Samsung and Motorola allow, and Oppo will allow with the Find 3.
On the other side of it, the aspect ratio of the cover display on the Oppo closely matches the aspect ratio of the inner display, whereas the Samsung and Motorola cover screens are more square.
Three cameras seems cool, but is it worth the sacrifice in cover screen size to the average user?
Probably because Oppo owns both Realme and OnePlus.
It’s pretty embarrassing that Google got outdone by Samsung on the update front. Mid range Samsungs getting more Android version updates than flagship Google Pixel devices should never happen. Google matching or exceeding them is the minimum of what should be expected.
Also the first few generations of tensor just being a rebadged Exynos processor has hit their reputation hard. Everyday users don’t know what chip is in their phone, but they do know that cell reception and thermals have gotten worse since the change.
Hopefully they keep to their word. Could be another Nokia or Huawei situation here. I’m still upset about the Huawei one, just after I unlocked my phone it was stolen, and by the time I got a replacement the unlock service was taken down.
