I’m extremely anti-credit. But, there are things that require you have some kind of credit score— like renting an apartment. When I was in Los Angeles, I was actually rejected from signing a lease because I had no credit. Not bad credit. None at all, which they said was actually worse, somehow.

afronaut@slrpnk.netto Fediverse@lemmy.world•Why Lemmy is so superior to Reddit: No Karma, Just Value ContentEnglish14·29 days agoHorrible take. I absolutely do not give a fuck about arbitrary internet points and would like to see an open discussion without a majority bias downvoting someone into oblivion just because they disagree. For example, your comment will not be hidden just because your comment is being downvoted.
The only thing bringing profile karma to Lemmy will do is attract botters to inflate their credibility. Those could also be used to downvote others so the botter’s comments and posts are pushed to the top.
Again, horrible idea.

lol yea. I’m an American and fully support other nations boycotting our goods but I’m noticing an overlap with these boycotts and nationalist-imperialist sentiments.
Barely even that. Someone who likes marijuana is more likely.
