Ear buds or IEMs typically have a much higher sensitivity than full sized headphones. The higher the output power of your PC’s headphone out, the louder your earbuds will be at any given volume %.

There isn’t anyway around this except to manually change the volume whenever you use your earbuds.

Same here, although I confess I wasn’t blown away by this one. I often find that while Ghibli films always crush it on the imagination front, the writing can be hit and miss. I understood the autobiographical origin of the plot, but there were several parts that felt underdeveloped or poorly explained. Overall, was good but definitely not up there with Mononoke or Spirited Away, imo

Sure there’s a lot of garbage out there, but YouTube and platforms like Substack allow former corporate journalists who want more freedom to do proper investigative stuff. You just have to be discerning with your sources.

Yeah, same. Getting past Guardians in BoTW required relying heavily on save scumming until I managed to get it right. Any fight that needed flurry rush was also always a disaster.

Not really, and I think that’s because in many games I play primarily to experience the world, find new items, and generally explore. The story itself usually takes a back seat and is rarely the thing driving me forward.

One counterpoint to that, off the top of my head, is Journey, which I always play through to the end scene.

I love RPGs but hate boss fights, for some reason. Once I feel I’ve done enough exploration and character development, I invariably lose all interest close to the last boss.

This is exactly it for me, too. Despite having significantly more users than Lemmy, Mastodon still feels much less social.

Case in point: I went looking for journalists to follow, because that’s one of the main uses I had for Twitter, but found almost none. Of the few I did find, almost no one was interacting with their posts at all. I even saw one journalist post a plea to her followers to boost, like, or just do something because she was on the point of giving up due to the lack of response she was getting. It was sad, quite honestly.

There needs to be a way to help users find content to engage with that doesn’t require an algorithm to force feed it down people’s throats.

Especially since it’s already hard enough to find the specific content you’re looking for on Mastodon.

Ok, thanks for the heads-up. I’m running it in a local VM and for some reason my host Arch system is significantly faster at downloading and installing packages than the blendOS guest. Not sure why, but just thought I’d mention it.

Edit: never mind, I messed up the first installation so had to do-over, and the slow download speed seems to have recovered this time.

Follow-up question: I’m in the US and the initial installation is taking forever. Pacman seems to be running at just 60-80 KiB/s when I normally get 5MiB/s. IS there a way to have the installer choose a local mirror before downloading all the packages?
