Pretty much, the Republican party all the way up to Trump doesn’t even hide that they’re anti-Democracy, and attempts to break democratic systems that underpin our entire government nay our way of life are basically out in the open.

Hope it’s not as bad as I think (“as bad as I think” means “mass killings;”) What else can I do? Everyone else here seems to be privileged enough to have the skills or plain cash to say “I’ll go somewhere else,” isn’t as worried as they should be, or think they’re Apocalypse Badass Man (see: accelerationists.) FOSS is strongly supported by communists, but there’s also strong support for it from right-libertarians (when I was younger I remember the stereotype being that Linux users believed taxation was theft)

(I agree that the way FOSS operates is anarcho-communist in nature; I just think people with fringe politics are more likely to support FOSS in general)

I also worry a conservative will buy it and boost manosphere, white nationalist, etc. content more. And as it is TikTok boosts these people, intentionally or not.

Grief…doesn’t motivate you. In movies, guys like me, people who have had loved ones killed through prejudices and big evil organizations 🐘 do something about it. Whether that’s activism or something more illegal. But I was way more aggressive about my political views before my girlfriend died. But I’m with you, I completely disagree with the comment saying men’s fashion is interesting if you look for it. It’s not, the only forms of men’s fashion that are interesting are the forms that society has labeled “feminine.” Going into a store and seeing all the men’s clothes in neutrals and actual variety in the women’s cemented my interest in crossdressing.

I agree, but seriously the Euroid comments need to go. Too much of it is either privelege and ignorance (“just move bro!”) or active dehumanization (“I live in a CIVILIZED country.”)

The best I can make sense of it is that I make my money as some sort of emo catboy vtuber. Assuming I’m not already reasonably popular, that boils down to how good a streamer I can be and the economic factors of going into the EN vtubing industry after the initial boom. And I’m already at a disadvantage because “emo catboy” is a weak concept that lacks originality.

Jet Set Radio Future.

Most people would consider it completely outclassed by competing Gran Turismo 3 and the later Forza Motorsport 1, but Sega GT 2002 is really nostalgic for me and I’d still love to actually beat it some day.

I’m not a beat em up fan but I’d call Streets of Rage 4 the best game in a genre I mostly don’t like.

I also don’t really like 3D fighters, but I greatly prefer Virtua Fighter and especially Fighting Vipers (and Sonic the Fighters but you said no Sonic) over Bandai Namco or Koei Tecmo’s offerings.

I got Super Mario Bros. Wonder day one and it made me realize I don’t like Mario nearly as much as I thought I did. And I already knew I liked Mario less than most people. It kinda made me realize the only games in the series I truly loved were Super Mario World and Bowser’s Fury. If you include the alternate character spinoffs you can add Yoshi’s Island to the list.

It’s definitely the best 2D Mario since NSMB DS, there’s nothing wrong with it and it’s the most creative 2D Mario since World…but it still fails to stick in my mind the way Kirby games, Sonic games, Mega Man games, and more do. It was fun but it didn’t wow me and I thought it was too easy (am I crazy or are 2D Mario games easier than Kirby games?) I’m glad I played it but I wish I picked it up sometime in the upcoming period when the Switch is completely removed from being current but not old enough to be retro.

What I’ve noticed about myself is that I’d pick a Sonic game that’s considered “decent” or “debatable” over a comparable Mario game that people consider a GOTY candidate easily. with very few exceptions. And while Wonder vs. Superstars is an exception, it’s only because of how godawful Superstars’ bosses are.

Like, I’ve browsed around a few times. /LGBT/ (when it wasn’t people from /pol/ trying to debate trans people) was the only board of value…I can’t put it into words but, it’s the only board I think really lives up to the romantic ideals of what 4chan is. It feels… weirdly neither irony poisoned like the rest of 4chan nor dead serious and moralistic like the rest of the internet. Maybe the rest used to live up, I’m young so I wouldn’t know (though I do know people were moaning about “the old 4chan” in 08.) But I don’t belong on /LGBT/, I’m moralism poisoned.

Culturally, 4chan is a spent force, I think that became clear when every new meme from there was a Soyjak variant. It’s a shame some channers think they’re still on the precipice of internet culture. I just wish the ghost of /pol/'s influence would stop haunting my country.

I think A Passion Play being my favorite album in that whole genre might be my least popular opinion in all of music, I really don’t get the hate. And I’m not really a Tull fan even.

Green Day - American Idiot. It’s not that I dislike what came after, but 21st Century Breakdown feels disjointed, the Trilogy has really low lows, and they stopped being ambitious after that and just put out two “pretty good” albums and one awful one.
