Avoid Manjaro
Avoid Manjaro
I tried to edit a 2hr video in kdenlive. It hung immediately after I told it where the file was. I believe it tried to load and process the whole thing into a subset. It should have stored references instead. I can check again tho I did recently change from ubuntu where Kde was like 1 year out of date.
Died on me too, randomly stopped receiving package updates…
I am gonna go set those up today lol, I miss it.
Wiggly windows in compiz probably converted like 10 thousand 12 year olds to linux… I know from experience!
I use Caddy. It works from Cli but very ez to use. Might try this in the future tho
…unfortunately no… I work around it by knowing what buttons to press but it’s pretty stupid.
Lol, ban me and I’ll finally have an excuse. Brb logging into league of linux
For me it was a problem with update frequency and how long they would take. Once i got rid of my flatpaks and moved to stable firefox i update once a week instead of daily now and it takes seconds instead of minutes. Probably also solvable with auto updates.
VR seems to be one of the last things that does not work. My Index is laggy af on Ubuntu and Fedora but completely fine on windows.
I have sorta Stockholm syndrome with it now. I’m locked in so may as well enjoy it.
Every time I have seen a funky black screen with text against my will Nvidia was involved.
A keyboard lasts as long as you make it last, in other words, until you spill a beer or coke on it… Even then there may be hope. I have a working IBM Model M from 1989 if that matters…
Thank you. I would prefer not to install docker, that is just a personal preference, but so many apps are like uhh, we don’t know how to run this without Docker. Usually there is a way buried in layers of github issues but just like… why.
It’s mostly about having the ability and wanting to avoid any extra layers of abstraction. I think docker takes up more disk space than pure install but not 100% on that. Only app that I have w docker is Immich right now and would love to just uninstall docker entirely but … I can’t.
I did try it, but it was missing video streaming last I checked. Also, they made self hosting without docker incredibly difficult.
Mine went back to no display only on boot, so I guess it didnt work for me either :( good luck tho!!
Blah, I kinda tried, but no dice yet, only managed to stop my suspend from working. I have modprobe/nvidia.conf and with the tmpfile option, updated initramfs, added the services… but only my monitors turn off. I can probably live without it for now though.
I had a similar problem which was resolved by disabling the motherboard integrated graphics in bios settings.
Just finished moving all 3 of my computers to Fedora and WOW it is so good compared to ubuntu. I was missing out. Everything is working on both AMD and Nvidia, even wayland.
