I don’t get why you’re all so mad at me for being right, I don’t get mad at you for always being wrong
In general I think people are too eager to block and defederate for little to no reason other than disagreement. There are exceptions but as far as a normal conversation it’s an overreaction and the antithesis of federating anyway. We already have plenty of siloed walled gardens that are echo chambers.
Social media is so dead. Everyone has one yeah but it’s a placeholder. The novelty is gone
If bluetooth is so great why don’t they use it for concert audio at big shows?
Why was it abandoned? Looks very apocalyptic
Depends but possibly freight and logistics cycles.
I’ve never admined a lemmy server but rate limits are probably why it feels slow.
Federation works by each server sharing new activity with each other and rate limits help not crash the server or accidentally DOS smaller servers.
I know it’s not technically “self” hosted but I’d get a cheap yearly VPS somewhere and run a webserver off of that. For me its worth the peace of mind to keep my network a temple instead of a bus terminal. I paid $13 usd for the year for mine
When I want an ad gone, I reach for brand name soda. Brand name soda, it means you’re smart.

Bluetooth it’s oh so perfect, it sounds like god playing the music himself and nothing ever takes too long to pair. I threw away my vinyl and CDs to listen to Spotify on low setting like the musicians intended
Thank you regulatory capture for letting corporations rule the globe like kings
Bluetooth is compressed garbage
What modern gadgets? All that’s left are cell phone tracking devices
Honeypots and also to discourage people from engaging to corral people into big tech where surveillance is #1
Sound like fed honeypots to me
Maybe its their instances and those are honeypots
Depending on your budget I highly suggest controlling your own domain and pointing the DNS that way. I’ve ran into problems with every free DNS thing since the beginning of the web. There’s all sorts of fun TLDs and they often go on sale for cheap
