I’d love to see countries mark “expat” as an option on forms…
Just as a trap to filter them all out.

Just as a trap to filter them all out.
Make posts to them…
Lots of people browse by /all and /new because of lack of content.
Which means it’s relatively easy to get a sub to catch on
But you need to actually make posts so people see them. Try to space it out tho, 15 posts in 15 minutes will just get people to block it due to spam. A couple spaced out thru a day tho will start getting more interaction, go for quality not quantity and hope eventually other users start submitting stuff for the quantity part.
The scariest part of the last 3 elections is moderates still expect trump to follow the rules…
She ran the worst campaign you could run with the billion dollars and initial support she was gifted.
Biden’s was worse
It’s still Kamala’s fault she lost, but she wasn’t as bad as it could have been.
Requiem for a Dream
Trainspotting
It’s basically negligible tho.
Like I recently busted out Logitech mouse/keyboard combo with a dongle. They say for maybe five years and I’ve been using them for months now and the batteries are still what was in them.
I think that if people are randomly sending that shit to people they don’t know, all it means is they have mental health issues…
I’m not sure what else people would think about it, it’s obviously schizophrenic ramblings
On December 1, the situation, somehow, worsened when Kanye appeared on The Alex Jones Show. Over the course of the broadcast, he repeatedly praised Hitler and the Nazi party, insisting that he “loves” Nazis and “likes” Hitler, and at one point blatantly declaring, “The Jewish media has made us feel like the Nazis and Hitler have never offered anything of value to the world.” His remarks placed Jones in the rare position of attempting to help Kanye walk back his extremism by reminding him that Nazis “did a lot of very bad things.”
“But they did good things, too,” Ye responded. “We’ve got to stop dissing the Nazis all of the time.”
That was in the morning. By evening, Ye had been indefinitely suspended from Twitter for posting an image of a Nazi swastika inside of a Star of David.

What’s weird is it’s always the accounts with no activity making these complaints…
Including this thread, OP has made 4 posts and 20 some comments over the last year.
She asked me twice whether I thought her stories sounded crazy, so she was clearly somewhat aware of her condition.
Not necessarily.
It’s very likely everyone in her life were telling her it’s all in her head, she gets mad and says she’s not crazy…
Then calls random repair people, tells them the story. And asks “am I crazy” because most businesses would never say that to a client. She was looking for validation, the same way people go fishing for compliments saying stuff like “I’m so bad at my job, I don’t know how you all put up with me”. Even if it’s true and they’re dead weight, most people will be polite and reassure them.
I just didn’t know how to deal with someone like that
Tell them that they should relay their concerns to a medical professional if they’re concerned.
If they’re seriously doubting their delusions, they’ll go get help and thank you for the advice.
More likely they’ll realize you’re not giving them what they want, get mad, and often blame you for being involved in the conspiracy.
But there’s a chance they actually get help.
Any kind of acceptance of their beliefs, no matter how tentative, reinforces it and drives them further into the delusion. Depending on how involved her family is, she might have called them immediately, and after cussing them out said even the plumber agrees she’s not crazy.
They probably thought you meant something different than what you actually meant.
…
You think they do an annual review of threads?
It was over a year ago I made the comment, they banned me for it five days ago.
I don’t know man, it’s weird you’re not getting that, but it doesn’t really matter.
I’m sorry if I’m explaining it poorly.
I did remember it wasn’t I blocked a mod, I explained why I might not respond. And apparently they didn’t like that I had blocked their instance
Weird, maybe because I looked at world’s modlog and not theirs like you seem to have done.
I clicked on the link, it was a comment from literally a year ago lol.
https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/comment/3159844
I blocked the mod of that sub about a week ago, so they likely went and saw my last comment there and banned me for it.
Like I said tho, I’m perfectly fine with it. I blocked their whole instance a long time ago, I think it might have actually been that thread that clued me in it wasn’t worth ever going there again.
Thanks for finding that tho! I’ll remember to check an instance’s own modlog in the future for more details.
Quick edit:
(which your agreement to could be seen as agreement with trans-segrigation in sports).
Nah, I was explaining how the only way to get better at chess is to play better people, and there’s no reason for any classes based around gender. And the explanation for difference in skill, is simply that the best men refused to play women, so they never improved. The first female grand master was only that good because her dad was crazy good and made her and her sister play him constantly.
You need the experience of high level play to be able to play at a high level, and any gender divide in division just prolongs that. So I was arguing against any segregation at all.
That’s why they let it stay up a year until I blocked the mod of that community.
And suddenly it was transphobic.
A “tankie” isn’t the same as a communist.
A “tankie” is someone that takes China’s side (the tanks) in that famous picture of Tiananmen square.
Being a “tankie” is using communism as a facade for authoritarian governments where a small group of “upper party members” are essentially oligarchs.
Nah, I replied to OP and they deleted the comment.
Maybe that looks weird on some federated instances or apps tho.
If it looks like I’m replying to someone else, that would explain the down votes.
OPs post gets reposted pretty frequently, always by new accounts which tend to disappear a day or two later after some lazy posts.
I really do think it’s the same person who’s bans are in the screenshots.
It’s too random that a bunch of brand new accounts all find the post and quote it with perfectly formatting including all the pictures just to repost it the same place they found it.
Especially since the new account always claims they’re “helping new users” like they’ve been here forever.
They seem more like nationalists who coopted socialism/communism to white wash what they actually support and overlooking the elite ruling class that they are not a part of.
…
Yes…
They’re defenders of USSR and China…
So obviously they’re not going to actually be socialis/communist.
The problem is when capitalists lump actuall socialists/communists with the fake ones.
On the other hand, I’ve blocked both those instances months ago and it’s been great.
Strangely I did notice I got banned from a blahaj community like a week ago despite not commenting there for at least 6 months, maybe ever?
Which is kind of the whole point of me blocking them
Both have mods/admins that are very very opinionated about things. And they tend to refuse to let things go (much like OP or you making that sub)
So if they see something they dont agree with, they’ll pre-emptively ban an account, because, and this is doubly important right here:
It’s trolls feeding trolls drama in a big loop
You making that sub, OP making this post…
All you’re doing is encouraging them
Can you really not understand?
I’ll try and remember to come back and check if you respond, but I don’t get notifications from instances I’ve blocked.
Edit:
I was banned five days ago apparently for this comment from a year ago:
https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/comment/3159844
Definitely not because I blocked that mod five days ago and they desperately found a way to “get back”.
Great example of my point tho, silly instances like that there’s no point in fighting them, just block their instance and go about your life.
but that doesn’t block those users on them to be fair. That has to be done individually.
It blocks notifications of replies.
Sometimes I’ll notice a .ml responded to me, and if they seem decent I’ll reply back. But I’ll never get a notification and that’s almost always as far as it goes.
Which is fine. Lots of people can make one civil comment to rope someone in a conversation.
just advising new users to watch where they are active; I
Your profile has 10 posts/comments and has been around for a week…
Are you the original OP who just keeps making new accounts to spam this?
Or do you think 10 posts/comments over a week means you understand Lemmy and should reach out to teach “new users”?
World is kind of the vanilla instance.
Just.works is a “free speech” instance, I never see many communities hosted there, but a large amount of trolls make accounts there because just.works is unlikely to nuke an account.
What OP is talking about has been a thing since the 90s and even 80s and earlier with ex-military.
Move to a cheap country where your pension/disability/passive income/whatever makes you wealthy.
Originally places liked it because it was an influx in cash. But then it became too popular and they were gentrifying places to the point locals couldn’t afford to live and these leeches never worked.
It became big again with the internet when people became able to work and American job while overseas remotely. But by now most American companies just won’t pay American wages. If they wanted someone overseas they’d pay them the low wage they always do.
With those younger people they added the “temporary” because they say they’ll move back someday.
What you’re talking about (if the job is in that country) would be a migrant worker.
But they also don’t like that label, they think they’re better than it.
