I mean I stare into my cats eyes all the time. The key is to long blink. You have to have built enough trust or the cat will try to attack you.
You can build trust by just being in the same space and ignoring it.
I only joke about Arch being the superior distro because, well, I use it and because it’s apparently a thing.
I actually don’t have any strong feelings about Ubuntu. It’s a distro. It works. I only use Arch because of the AUR (I’m lazy, okay?). I don’t have strong feelings about it either. Linux is configurable to basically exactly what you want. Once (or if) you get into customization you just pick the distro that allows you to get to what you want faster.
I do have strong feelings about Windows though.
Alternatively there is weechat. I haven’t tried them back to back so I can’t tell you which one I like better

Well, tbf, I say “lol” IRL, but only when I’m mocking people…
You don’t have time be on arch, gentoo, etc to heavily customize your system - you can customize on Ubuntu’s. That the beauty of Linux.
I’d argue that we need more /wayland/ tiling WM. But you are right that most desktop users (ie. OSX, Windows) just want something intuitive that makes sense. They don’t want to learn i3wm. But once you do learn it, it’s hard to go back
Under pros and cons:
Capslock is Backspace (Linux only) Shift+Capslock is Escape (Linux only)
Why does workman have a different layout for Linux? That’s a headache for people who dual boot
