  • Snow? Realllllyyyy depends on where in the state

Western Washington gets almost none, and you’ve got the whole I5 corridor to move to. Vancouver is the biggest city with the most affordable housing ratio. Not that it’s an oddly deep red district which is counter intuitive considering its size and proximity to Portland.

Bellingham up near the border is next in line, but it’s smaller and further from city activities.

Tacoma and Olympia are both cities that Seattleites are starting to move to despite the commute due to more affordable housing.

Then there’s Everett, the home of Boeing and about 25 miles north of Seattle. Cheaper than Seattle and has reasonable access to Seattle or to head north to the border. Still expect to pay 600k plus for a house though.

Lastly there’s everything between. It’s all small towns, rural areas, trees, and hills. The spot about smack dab between Tacoma and Portland gets more snow than most of the west side of the state, so maybe not for you. But the rest is good. And these places will all be cheap as hell to buy in. You just won’t have city amenities.

  • What you’ve described is a solid parallel to several aspects of my own life, albeit mine are less disruptive. But I’m reasonably confident it’s an interplay between my ADHD and bipolar that lead to the behaviors. Now that I’m properly medicated, it’s much less of an issue for me.

Not saying you have either, but definitely worth investigating the mental health side of things considering this sounds properly disruptive, which is the line for something being a ‘condition’.

  • ADHD was my first thought. This is very similar to how I am with most things, namely how I entertain myself. My situation is much less disruptive, but equally frustrating.

It’s also possible it could be tied to bipolar disorder or maybe an interplay between the two (I’ve been diagnosed with both).

It’s definitely worth the time for OP to go to a therapist and/or psychologist to discuss these issues.

I just spent the last 6 hours trying to get my home assistant VM to run on boot up because I’ve spent the last 6 months unable to get Linux to stop automatically rebooting for unattended upgrades.

I’m far from a power user but it shouldn’t be so fucking hard. It’s like 3 clicks to disable automatic upgrades/reboots in Windows.

  • I name my kisses something stupid.

Like when we’re skating (we’re both bad at it) I call it a danger kiss. Or when we’re eating hotdogs and one of us is still chewing I’ll call it ‘hot dog kiss’. Their kid hated when we kissed until I started doing this and now she thinks it’s adorable. Which is great because I’m trying to show her what a happy, healthy, and loving relationship should look like since she hasn’t had good examples in the past. Plus my partner thinks it’s adorable too and giggles when I do it.

We also intentionally mispronounce words. Hot dog is ‘hot dong’. Hamburger and ‘hahmberder’. Shit like that.
