R/canada and r/worldnews shared high ranking mods who are known white supremacists.
Also loved RiF.
Didnt realize how bad reddit had gotten though.
TL;DR from their(newpipe’s) reddit:
Youtube did an update that added an additonal parameter to the calls, allegedly as an anti-bot tactic.
Because of how it worked, it broke all of the various frontends, but Invidious based access still worked.
They posted a release candidate that fixed the issue to Github first, then I picked it up from their site several days ago.
Based on the article, the problem is that Github isn’t being treated as legacy software, but isn’t able to load a full file using the currently popular JS framework they are using.
In windows 10 you can reenable it, but you have dig a bit in the power management control panel to do so.
Its unfortunate that this thinking has bled over to Linux.
I am old enough to recall pre internet. Even had a few physical letter pen pals.
Email was mind blowing.
Hell, even just the concept of digital encyclopedia, not even on the internet, was game changing.
I miss dialing 0 and instantly getting a real person to help you though.
Yeah, but I recall attending a gaming tournament where smash brothers had an entire gym to itself.
By day two it was so bad that the artists(mostly women) just outside the gym had moved their vendor tables away from the gym.
Dropout.tv is what I dropped Netflix for and I absolutely don’t regret it. They do Dimension 20 dnd shows as well as a number of comedy and skit shows. You can generally find a lot of the stuff on Youtube.
Don’t hate spiderman. Hate the writers roughly since 2000 that only let him have a break from misery when he’s in an alternate universe where he never became spider man.
Metro Vancouver used to be called “Greater Vancouver Area” as well.
What changed is that the mayors stood up to an idiotic public-private partnership a far right premier was trying to force through. So he replaced the greater vancouver mayoral board with a board appointed directly by the premier, which promptly green-lit the project.
And because CTV/Global/Nat.Post/Sun are all extremely pro-corporate media, they followed along in supporting the change.
Now, not two decades later the RAV line is a mess. The line is over capacity, stations are too small and cant be expanded without changing the entire line. Meanwhile the union made and publically owned Skytrain system is going on 40 years old and is working fine.
Pictures, or lack thereof. In 2022, we were shown daily with the horrors perpetuated by the Russians. I suppose the corporate media were happy to do it because it was Russia doing it, and that means easy arms sales and no (sane) protests.
Now though, because of Israel’s genocide in Palestine, there isnt the bombardment of pictures and videos from Ukraine. It draws parallels to what Israel is doing in Gaza, and Netanyahu/Likud’s military is a multi-billion dollar “venture” by the US arms industry. One where Israel gets billions from the US gov and spends it on buying US weapons and ammo.
Edit: to be clear, showing the same videos now draws “unwelcome” comparisons to what Netanyahu and Likud are doing in Palestine. They don’t want a return to the anti-war movement that came out of media from.the Vietnam war.
They’re trying to accomplish that without the aid of an industrial engineer who would immediately tell them their plan was shit.
Also theyre being used to allow for continued captialist growth while ignoring issues that are leading to stagnant or even regressive birth rates.
A great example there being Justin Trudeau’s immigration policy.
As long as “temporary” foreign worker programs exist, there isn’t a shortage of labour as far as the elite are concerned.
A limited pool of local applicants is a benefit to them. Then they get to bring in foreigners who don’t know the value of their work in a western country and don’t know the laws that protect them, both labour laws and actual criminal laws.
No, not always. I know of a very major firm that uses google suite for everything but chat and video calls. They use MS Teams because its just that much better than google’s alternative. From the chats Ive had, the issue with Slack there is that someone high up in their IT stack hates it.
If nothing else, there is space for a competitor to MS teams in the corporate space.
Everyone else is ending up on teams, but no one actually likes it.
Unpopular, impeached, sex offender former president
Another for the mbin team at kbin.run
Forked from kbin and being worked on by a team
