I’ve found Garuda pretty much gets you all the perks of Arch without the drawbacks and installs just as quickly as debian if not faster. And I love ancient Linux memes as much as anybody but neither Debian or fedora is much to write home about nowadays IMHO.

I really really want to say yes to this. Fuck Google play, Google play does nothing for me as a user. It’s actively a nuisance, even. The cpu/storage drain alone is unacceptable. And it’s like, fuck, I wouldn’t be as angry about them gathering/selling my personal data if they cut me in on that but decency is nonexistent in big tech, not even in short supply.

I’m almost 3k behind because my parents forced me into choosing college or the military at 18. Debtap is suprisingly easy to use after switching to arch (highly recommend), but i actually love .deb files. Obviously it’s a slight risk to the user in the similar way dot EXE’s can be for windows , but they really do simplify package management for when you’re newer to linux.
