Yeah. And I bet most, if not all of them would’ve been a lot happier with that feature. It makes things so much easier, so much more flexible.
So my fear of sharks has gotten better, and I don’t quite understand why.
Curious 🏳️⚧️
But anyhow, you’ve probably found me because you’ve seen one of my totally inconspicuous comments
I’m open to chat about these and other related things over on Matrix
Yeah. And I bet most, if not all of them would’ve been a lot happier with that feature. It makes things so much easier, so much more flexible.
It’s 2024 and GIMP will only now be getting the ability to do non-destructive editing through adjustment layers. It has been fine for many simple tasks, but for anything that’s more complex than a Lemmy shitpost, it’s been rough for that reason alone
I was wondering where that issue came from
I had one big problem with VLC, in that it could not figure out which of my monitors I wanted the video to run fullscreen on. That was infuriating to the point I switched to MPV, and I’m very happy with it
As much as I hate him, a large majority of the games that are given away on that platform are fully DRM-free, and that’s pretty damn cool
I’ve never even heard of it. Anyway, use Graphene if you have a Pixel, and ideally DivestOS if you don’t
Most of them, that’s fair. But I do see a distinct lack of email apps supporting it.
Not common enough, when you look at the small list of apps that support it
It’s a pretty helpful tool, but I still prefer running an LLM locally, even though it’ll take a while to answer, then
It’s going to be part of the 3.0 release, after what feels like an eternity. The 2.99 dev release has it already, I might try that
They make things so much easier, having to make copies of every layer every time just to keep the original in case you need to re-do something half an hour later is super annoying.
Especially if you do multiple different things with a layer. Do you really have the patience to make backuo copies of a layer after every little edit you apply to it?
And then let’s say step 2 of 5 didn’t turn out like you want. Backup copies or not, you still have to re-do everything from 2 to 5 because of GIMPs destructive nature as of right now
Fossify Contacts, perhaps
You know why the person themselves is the important part of this equation?
Because they know what tools to use for which purpose.
For example, GIMP is only now getting non-destructive editing through adjustment layers, which is such an indispensable feature for important projects
To think that I have lived years without knowing about those little features like combining title and menu bar to save space
Mal ganz abgesehen davon, dass Elefanten sehr schlau sind, und man sich mit gezielter Jagd nur noch unbeliebter bei ihnen macht.
Even if it worked, I wouldn’t want Adobe clogging up my Linux system with all their BS just to run Photoshop.
That shit gets a dedicated system on a dedicated drive.
Accessibility definitely needs more love, it’s an afterthought in most cases, at best.
I’m not sure if we’re ever going to get the full potential of a card out of NVK, but the fact that running them above base clock is now possible is pretty huge already.
(Unless I misunderstood something, but I believe that’s now a thing)
Hell, Lutris can even set up the original 1989 Sim City for you. Seeing that game on modern display sizes and resolutions is quite something
