I lived across the street from a power distribution station. One night while I was outside, there was a lightning strike there, and it lit up the sky like daylight for 2-3 full seconds, and the power for the whole town went out.

If you had not dipped these in … food coloring, for some reason…?
You rub the end on the red packaging to make the tip red. At least that’s how we did it when I was a kid, long after they stopped calling them candy cigarettes, but we knew what they were.

The red comes from rubbing one end on the red packaging.
I remember that one. That was peak Reddit content.

Really it depends what you use your computer for. If you’re a casual user, and all you do is browse the web, watch videos, and play games, the transition is no worse than moving from Windows to Mac. There are some small quirks to get used to, but anybody should be able to figure out 90% of it in a matter of minutes.

Not taking away any of your points, as they’re mostly valid. That’s almost entirely an infrastructure problem.
Heavy pro-oil, anti-bike propaganda has got people all uppity about improving bike-related infrastructure, even when there are few or no consequences for drivers.

I have a dark hair that grows out of the side of my nose. It’s thicker and stiffer than anything else around, and it’s painful to pull out every time it shows up.

I was actually surprised by how recent the article happened to be.
I was curious and looked it up because I had a similar thought about Pepsi recently, but I figured I don’t drink it often enough that I could trust my palate about the taste being off.

I found this article by a food scientist basically asking the same question.
The gist of it is that Diet Coke’s recipe has not changed at all. Coke wouldn’t dare take a chance like that again after the disaster that was New Coke. But there are many factors that can affect your perception of flavors, including the type of container, temperature, and other things you eat or drink.

I thought Blåhaj was the fediverse’s favorite plushy.

Sure, there’s much better ice cream than McDonald’s, but sometimes a McDonald’s sundae hits just right.
I’ve only had it a couple times, but it only tasted slightly like it smelled. Not particularly pleasant, but not terrible either.
Picture a bag of sweet onions that’s been sitting there too long and the bottom ones are getting soggy and smushed and leaking brown juice all over.
But it’s only smells. It tastes nothing like that. It’s like a weird, creamy fruit custard. I thinknit’s ok, but some people love it.

Why do kids like you always have to make things generational??
The irony of this question is painful.
You just complained about what younger people do, and then you complained about being called out for it bevause someone “made it generational.”
You made it generational.

I’m always shocked how fast accessing the filesystem and copying files between phone and PC is via KDE Connect compared to doing it via USB. At work, I often have to take pictures with my phone and copy them to PC, and it’s always a tedious affair. Loading a folder in Windows takes forever when it has tons of pictures in it. At home, my phone automatically connects to my PC when it’s on wifi, and accessing a folder on my phone is the same as accessing a local folder.

KDE Connect can probably do this.

You got that backwards. It’s the PC going faster that causes the flames.

But them the government can’t unilaterally take your property from you for a pittance under eminent domain. Who wants a system like that?
I used it for a long time, but ads kept slipping through occasionally. And then sometimes it wouldn’t work at all for a while.
Alternate Player seemed to.always work until recently. It would drop the resolution when ads were being blocked, but otherwise worked fine until a few days ago.
