People seem to think freedom and democracy are synonymous. Places can be free, but not have democracy; places can also have democracy and not be free. When a simple majority of the voting public supports cracking down on freedoms - you will have one of the two, but you can’t have both.

-Coal power plants will be phased out entirely in U.S.A. with some taking credit and others morning the loss of a purely economic conversion over to natural gas power. It will look like it is solar’s time to shine, but a “new” way of generating power which is cheaper and slightly cleaner will take over and slowly convert natural gas plants to whatever it is.

-There will be a detracted argument over whether or not what comes after current gen-AI is considered sapient and worthy of rights. While the debate will be straightforward in a vacuum, other semi-related topics will mix in including: the rich wanting their AI doppelgangers to keep control of the money/power they earned during life; something to do with sex and/or relationships because of course there will be; religious opposition until the poll numbers swap, then there will be some regions that view AI rights a helping the disadvantaged

-A young politician from the democrats will get elected on the back of anti-Trump hate. They will have in their first two years theoretically enough support to pass substantial legislation, but will be stopped by a small number of conservative democrats from doing anything substantial save for maybe one big accomplishment. They will loose the 2030 midterms to a bunch of republicans and a “grass-roots” organization that is paid for by rich business owners, but will come back to win the 2032 election against a rich republican from New England. However, they won’t have control over the congress and by 2035 will be a lame duck.

-Someone will scrap NASA’s current human space flight plans to promote their own plan, which in itself will be scrapped when a new administration comes in. By 2035, articles will be printing “it is a shame that no real current alive human has stepped foot on the moon”, taking a subtle dig at China’s AI-human that is currently building structures on the moon.

Evil use to hide - but through Trump’s no filter twitter postings, Musk’s self-aggrandizing incompetence, and Russia’s realization that they no longer have to hide their evil-doing, a lot of the evil these days is just out in the open.

Imagine a world where a competent president is hiding behind close doors planning a way to defund USAID and starve millions of people. Planning behind close doors cutting medicare by 1 trillion dollars, killing thousands of Americans, and using that money to fund a trillion dollar tax break for the mega rich. You wouldn’t know any of that is happening.

Now it is front page news, and people are reacting by boycotting Amazon for one day on the 28th.

Fair, I just see no other way of swaying minds without consequences. We tried 4 years of shielding people from Trump’s baser urges, and we ended with thousands of people dying each day to COVID. Then 4 year later THEY VOTED HIM BACK IN.

Cancel all the science, see how far behind we get, then bring it back with all the funding to make the next moonshot.

Get rid of all fogien aid, watch as our global power dimishes, the vote to bring it back with a clear and true purpose other than empire building.

The people don’t know WHY these things are important, and are unwilling to listen or learn. Thus, the only teacher is to experience. But to quote Trump: “There will be some pain” when doing it.

Do you really think anyone competent will work for Trump? The first time around he tried to deport dreamers, didn’t end the program the right way, and they didn’t get deported for his entire term. Stars going super-nova is the real great filter. Our sun is 4.6 billion years old. Life started 4 billion years ago. In 4 billion years, the sun goes supernova. We are halfway to the end of the earth.

Smaller stars last longer, but have smaller ranges that life can exist in - and planets tend to move in or out in their orbits. Bigger stars have giant habitable zones - but some large stars born when humans took their first steps are in their last decades of life. I’m not sure this counts as a single shot, but I’ve always felt that I could fix “Raya and the last dragon” with one flashback right after Sisu shows Raya her petrified brothers and sisters.

Context: Sisu’s plans up until this point have always revolved around ‘give the bad guy a present’ which never works, while Raya is ‘action girl’ and all her plans are fighting or running. The last shard of the dragon crystal to ‘save the world’ is in the hands of ‘evil girl’ who caused the ‘magic apocalypse’. After this scene, Sisu convinces Raya to go with the give ‘evil girl’ a gift plan, which get Sisu killed, then later after Raya and ‘evil girl’ fight, she does a 180 and gives up all the dragon shards to her and ‘evil girl’ saves the day. So the gift thing has no resolution, and the 180 is weird. How do you fix it?

Flashback: Sisu loves giving gifts to humans. One time she gives a gift and humans fight over it. This causes the evil greed clouds to attack for the first time.
