  • Good point but there has to be a balance somewhere.

If you have extremest moderators in charge of a community which is seemingly unbiased by its name can be misleading. Others will not create duplicate communities because one already exists with that name. And then those mods ban anyone who opposes their view creates a strong echo chamber and a unrealistic and unrepresentative community.

I’m mostly saying this because of moderators of noncredibledefense for example. They will ban people who state they oppose an all out war with Russia, which is madness. Yes it’s a shitpost community but there’s a line.

At the beginning it originally had an appeal that anyone could create a voice chat server for free in a matter of seconds.

Teamspeak needed a hosted dedicated server. Skype was “calls” and not communities. Mumble was hardly known.

I completely accept why it took off but I hate where it has gone. it’s over complicated and feature creeped electron shite

Are you kidding? There are literally hundreds of commands in the terminal which don’t have a symmetrical GUI application baked into the OS.

Why would you create a whole GUI for a simple command such as scp and tail. Literally half of Linux is solely in the terminal
