American brands are trying to trick consumers into thinking they aren’t buying American brands. Backlash isn’t about a trade war. It could go away and it still wouldn’t change that the US is a fascist country sending people to El Salvador without due process and even arresting their mayor while threatening annexation of other countries due to inability to comprehend the concept of consent.
Based on how nerdy lemmy seems to be with all the Linux talk the demographic that is more similar to old reddit.
There was a period early in reddit when it seemed more techy. Later on it became more mainstream with a shift towards people posting in a manner more similar to Facebook and Instagram sharing more personal pics and memes.
Looks like they are completely clueless about brand image, since tesla is the maga brand in the eyes of many.
We are all exposed to the same propaganda.
Sounds like attitude of wage slaves that have been brainwashed into doing everything for the corpos and being fine with getting scrap. They live to work as opposed to work to live.
Can’t change the slave mentality of some people. They were just born to be one.
Yep buying used is the route to go to not directly source a company with new revenue.
Every comment can be argued to be an attempt to try to convince people of a certain viewpoint.
Including this one pointing out the comment posted was a long laid out argument trying to change someone’s perspective of current events. ha
I hope for a Linux phone to pop up and become widespread someday. Maybe if Android emulation on Linux improves so people can at the very least use Android apps while running Linux a phone like that might become a possibility in the future.
Another reason I prefer stuff like newpipe and its forks and freetube on desktop is to be able to access my subscription feed with a local one to reduce YouTube account use as much as possible.
Yeah what of the things that led me to using YouTube logged out was a small thing like getting bunch of video game spoilers if I viewed some videos of a game I was interested in or needed a walk through or tip on.
I like the fork pipepipe since it has sponsorblock and also let’s you use a YouTube account only for accessing age restricted videos, since YouTube disabled that for people without accounts.
Yeah that’s the thing that stands out so much. That almost everything mainstream is either US or China. Come on rest of the world step up.
I don’t plan to vandalize private property. Pointing out what is the intended effect.
And regardless of political ideology what is happening to Tesla or any other brand receiving the same vitrol deters me from plans to buy them. Basically it’s radioactive to “we don’t like to talk about politics” crowd. Which is the average buyer.
Future sales is what increases stock. Including perceived future sales. Big example now is BYD and how stock has risen in anticipation of countries not being able to keep them out forever while ramping up production alongside improved battery tech.
There’s a big reason why most companies are incredibly protective of their brand image and traditionally have CEOs keep as much of a blank slate as possible. Most companies pivot towards being faceless with a replaceable CEO as opposed making the CEO their mascot for this reason. It can lead to a huge target on them if things go sour.
I do not understand how damaging my car is supposed to help your cause.
The fear you have for your car purchase is the point.
It’s not about changing ideologies or convincing people to change their politics or protecting owners who feel they are on the right side and should be spared.
It’s about having future buyers have to weigh whether the risk of vandalism, negative affiliations assumed of them, and insurance increases is worth buying the brand.
Unfortunate, but actions that result in indiscriminate collateral damage is what tends to actually have the intended impact. Which in this case seems to be to taint the Tesla brand as a risky one.
There was a time they played without helmets and
Between 1965 and 1969, more than 100 players at all levels died of brain injuries, an average of about 20 per year—about the same number as died in 1905, but from brain injuries alone.
So it’s just a stupid sport to begin with whether there is padding or not due to the whole bashing into each other from opposite ends every single play.
Yep lot of sports streams I’ve seen straight up don’t have commercials and goes to dead air during breaks, since they aren’t streaming regular broadcast channels.
Really nice ones switch to stadium cameras during breaks so showing what’s going on with the crowd and arena.
I feel safer with F-droid than I do downloading random unknown apps from Google play.
I don’t think there is one that has the clean old OnePlus feel. I still liked them until the custom ROM support died out for follow up devices to keep it going beyond the official OS support, since the hardware was solid.
